SUMMARY:The Flying Karamozov Brothers: Artifishal Idiots
DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Presents: Artifishal Idiots: A New Theatre Experience by The Flying Karamazov Brothers\nFriday\, February 20th @ 6:30PM | Donna M. Morris Theater\n*Tickets $25-$45 Adult\, $22 Youth | Financial assistance available – click here to apply\n*Our ticketing platform Ludus charges a 5% service fee for all credit card transactions. To avoid this fee\, visit our Box Office at 201 W. Front Street and pay via cash or check. Hours: Monday-Saturday 10AM-2PM. \n“Any competent juggler can defy gravity. Only the Karamazovs can make light of it.” – The Seattle Times \nArtifishal Idiots is a hilarious\, provocative\, awe-inspiring exploration of humanity in the age of AI. \nLegendary for more than five decades of boundary-pushing physical comedy\, virtuosic juggling\, and sharp social commentary\, The Flying Karamazov Brothers return with an entirely new theatrical work. Artifishal Idiots is a bold\, funny\, and unsettling exploration of artificial intelligence—and what it means to be human. \nSet in a not-too-distant future where flesh-and-blood humans may no longer exist\, Artifishal Idiots fuses high-level juggling\, music\, and live performance with AI-generated visuals and hallucinatory projections across three massive screens. The result is a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that delivers nonstop laughter alongside jaw-dropping physical feats. \n\n\n\n\n\nAt the heart of the work is a deceptively simple idea: what can machines never replace? The answer unfolds through juggling\, an art form defined by risk\, imperfection\, and inevitable failure. Gravity always wins\, and in that failure\, the show finds something profoundly human. \nCreated and performed by Paul Magid (Dmitri Karamazov) alongside collaborators Chen Pollina and Tomoki Sage of the ensemble NANDA\, the production reflects the Karamazovs’ tradition of building everything in-house\, from choreography and performance to visuals\, design\, and conceptual world-building. AI-driven imagery inspired by psychedelic 1960s light shows collides with blisteringly fast\, intricate juggling to create moments of beauty\, chaos\, and surprise. \nEqual parts comedy\, spectacle\, and cautionary tale\, Artifishal Idiots is theatre that can only be experienced live. \n“When the Karamazovs magically make juggling look like a dance routine or sound like a jazz jam session\, their act really flies.” – The New York Times \n“They juggle till they drop\, then keep on juggling!” – Time Out New York \nOur mission is to make art accessible to everyone. Financial assistance is available for this event through our #fieldhallforall program. Patrons can request a discount of up to 100%. Click here to apply for financial assistance.

DESCRIPTION:The 7th Voyage of Egon Tichy (Sinking Ship Productions and Theater in Quarantine)\nSaturday\, November 16 @ 2PM | Donna M. Morris Theater\nTickets $25-$50 Adult\, $15 Youth CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nSpace traveler Egon Tichy likes his quiet time. \nBut when his ship gets hit by a chunk of interstellar detritus\, he’s sent careening into a minefield of time vortexes. This slapstick science-fiction adventure propels Sinking Ship and Theater in Quarantine into their most technically ambitious production to date\, improbably trapping performer Joshua William Gelb amidst an exponentially expanding cast of one. \nThis is a live multi-media performance including both a live actor onstage and video overlay. \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nSinking Ship Productions (www.sinkingshipproductions.com) a New York-based theater company\, is the creative collaboration between Jonathan Levin and Josh Luxenberg. We work with a core group of Associate Artists\, combining physical theater\, puppetry\, music and movement in delightful\, strange and unexpected ways. Sinking Ship creates work that is the theatrical version of circumnavigating the globe in a questionably seaworthy vessel: grand and ridiculous\, unadvisedly ambitious\, and possibly delusional as we sail full tilt to the horizon. \nTheater in Quarantine (youtube.com/theaterinquarantine) is an Obie and Drama League Award-winning performance laboratory dedicated to the exploration of the live theatrical experience in the digital space. Established in response to the pandemic\, TiQ has developed and live-streamed dozens of visually distinctive\, original works to its YouTube channel\, working out of a closet in the East Village that’s only 8 sq feet. \nTheater in Quarantine merges the live and the digital — embracing 21st century solutions to the question of “what is “theatrical”? Our digital and hybrid programming spans genres and styles\, with world premieres of new plays\, new musicals\, adaptations of classic texts\, dance\, and site-specific art installations. \nThe accessibility of the digital form has allowed us to reach audiences around the globe\, with our viewership growing from just a handful to thousands. Theater in Quarantine has been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered\, Japan’s NHK Television\, and has been profiled in The New Yorker and The New York Times. Within a single year Theater in Quarantine has been a five-time New York Times Critic’s Pick as well as one of Vulture’s “Top 10 Best Theater Moments of 2020” and among the New York Times’ “Best Theater of 2021.”\n\nDuring the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic Theater in Quarantine was run by Co-Creative Directors Joshua William Gelb and Katie Rose McLaughlin\, collaborating remotely with over a hundred collaborators and reaching audiences across the globe. Presenting partners include The Invisible Dog\, Theater Mitu\, LaMama\, CultureHub\, New Georges\, CulturalDC\, A2SF\, the Exponential Festival\, and NYUSkirball. Enjoy a taste of our seasonal food and drink menu as well as stunning views from the waterfront Sunset Lounge and a hilarious night of standup comedy. \nProducer and host Drew Wilson-McGrath selected a couple of his favorite comics for this summer comedy night at Field Hall. This event is 21+   \n   \nHeadliner: Kermet Apio (Watch on YouTube)\nBorn and raised in Honolulu\, Hawaii\, Kermet Apio enjoyed a childhood in paradise. He spent his time watching television\, playing\, and procrastinating everything else. To this day\, he still does all three extensively.  \nAfter graduating from high school\, Kermet moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. Seattle became home. In early 1989\, Kermet did his first open mike night at the Comedy Underground in Seattle. Comedy was a fun hobby. In May of 1990\, he quit his job\, said good bye to health care and benefits\, and took the leap to performing full time. It is still his only job skill.  \nHe was the winner of the 2009 Great American Comedy Festival and has had numerous appearances on television and radio. He has showcased at comedy festivals in Aspen\, Las Vegas\, and Vancouver and has performed in 47 states and 3 Canadian provinces. He is a past winner of the Seattle Comedy Competition and was a semi-finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition. Also\, in 1988 he was Dishwasher of the Month at the Sea-Tac Airport Denny’s.  \nKermet is married and the proud father of two wonderful children. He enjoys his family\, baseball\, and pie. He does not enjoy opera\, sitting in traffic\, and writing about himself in the third person.  \n  \nFeature: David Kildal (Watch on YouTube)\nDavid is a Portland\, OR-based standup comedian. A native of both Southern Oregon and Southern Ohio\, he is well versed in making light of the unexciting. His style has been described as “chill\, yet spicy\, like a leftover chicken wing.” – but the reality is that his dry\, introspective sense of humor has been charming audiences for years. David is a regular at Helium Comedy Club in Portland\, and hosts the Five Star Review podcast and the Hot Bits! Comedy showcase. You’re going to love what he brings to the table!  \n

SUMMARY:Comedy Night in the Sunset Lounge
DESCRIPTION:July 13 @ 8PM | Comedy Night in the Sunset Lounge\nSunset Lounge opens to ticket holders starting at 6PM\n$28 Standard\, $125 VIP Table (seats 4)\, CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nField Hall presents\, by popular request\, live comedy in the Sunset Lounge! Local comedian and emcee Sam Grello hosts a side-splitting evening featuring two standout Seattle standups: Quinn Fitzgerald and Timmy Booth! \nThe Sunset Bar & Lounge opens to ticket holders at 6PM and will be serving cocktails\, mocktails\, and our July picnic-themed menu. Tickets for this show are required for entry to the Sunset Lounge; this is a 21+ event. \nHOST: SAM GRELLO\nSam Grello is a stand-up comedian\, writer\, and conflict avoider currently based in Port Angeles\, Washington. Sam has been personally shamed and fired by some of America’s most legendary performers in comedy and film. “Get that little jerk OUT of here.” – Tom Cruise. \nOPENER: QUINN FITZGERALD (WATCH ON YOUTUBE)\nForgive Quinn Fitzgerald for being easily confused — the Seattle-based comedian finds himself in many uncomfortable situations. Luckily for his audiences\, these turn out hilarious. Quinn produces the weekly Tony V’s Garage comedy showcase. He’s an everyman who’s not too proud to admit that most of the time he — like most of us\, really — is just trying to figure out what the heck is going on. \nOPENER (NEW!): CAROLE FREEMAN (WATCH ON YOUTUBE)\nCarole Freeman is a comedian and podcast host originally from a small town in Oregon. She spent the first half of her life trying to be a perfect good girl and is now discovering how fun it is to make up for lost time. She channels the tragedy of her near-death experiences into her sarcastic\, self-deprecating delivery on stage. She’s performed in The World Series of Comedy\, was a semifinalist in The Funniest Comic in the Valley\, and voted as having the best high school graduation photo with a cat. \nHEADLINER: TIMMY BOOTH (WATCH ON YOUTUBE)\nTimmy Booth is one of two standup comedians ever born in Stokesdale\, NC. He now lives in Seattle where he brought home a Pacific-Northwest-best third place in the 2022 Seattle International Comedy Competition. He’s been featured on Cut\, The New Yorker\, and The CBC. This year\, he’ll be performing a full run with Just The Tonic at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
