Their upbeat performances connect audiences to the rich history of American music while honoring military tradition. \nThe General’s 7\nThe General’s 7 is a traditional jazz ensemble that specializes in New Orleans-style\, turn-of-the-century jazz. Drawing inspiration from early 20th-century jazz pioneers\, the band captures the essence of the original jazz era\, characterized by its lively rhythms\, collective improvisation\, and rich brass instrumentation. Their performances evoke the spirit of classic New Orleans jazz\, offering audiences a nostalgic journey to the roots of American music. \nBrassquatch\nBrassquatch is a dynamic brass band that infuses traditional brass band music with elements of funk\, pop\, and soul. Field Hall invites you to a FREE Sunset Lounge concert with Hot Damn Scandal! Food and drink specials available to purchase: happy hour specials 5PM – 6PM; live music begins at 7PM. \nHot Damn Scandal finds its songs under park benches and in forgotten alleyways\, on the corner of Tom Waits and Gershwin. The resulting outlaw ballads\, dirty jazz\, circus freakouts\, shanty-rags\, string band funk\, lonesome heart-breakers\, and whiskey bottle love songs blend together in what may be best described as ‘Cabaret Americana’: theatrical\, orchestral\, lyrical\, and endlessly danceable. \nThe group began as a nebula of traveling musicians formed around the songs of founder Pete Irving over 15 years ago. Firmly rooted in the Northwest since 2013\, they have played countless shows and festivals up and down the west coast. \nWith influences ranging from Roma Swing to Motown\, from Klezmer too Country\, they’ll be in your ears and on your mind for good after you’ve seen them once.

This is a free\, all-ages event – no RSVP or ticket required. \nABOUT BREAD & GRAVY\nBread & Gravy Duo is a popular husband and wife act (Stephanie and Jess Doenges) who perform songs across many styles and genres. They feature powerful female vocals\, eclectic piano\, rhythm guitar\, and the occasional flute and harmonica. They have hosted or cohosted many Open Mics on the peninsula\, including ‘Open Mic at the Buzz’\, ‘The Junction Open Jam’\, ‘The Rainshadow Open Mic’\, and most recently at ‘Open Mic at the Sit-N-Bull’. They often play as a bigger band\, adding steady stalwarts such as Jerry Gilleland (drums) and Jason Taylor (bass and harmonies) and have also collaborated with dozens of other local musicians\, so one never knows who will come sit in with them on a given night. She has been playing music since a young age\, and has been in local bands such as Restless\, Luck of the Draw\, Rolling Waters\, and the Cornstalks. For the past twelve years\, she has been the face and voice of Bread and Gravy in all of its formations. While her voice is a main draw\, and guitar is her most common instrument\, she often surprises and astounds with riveting flute and harmonica solos. \nStephanie has run sound for Open Mics for many years now\, and she’s grown very adept at dialing people in quickly\, as well as tailoring the sound to any nuance the performer displays. \nJESS DOENGES (MC)\nJess is the quintessential late bloomer\, who didn’t touch a musical instrument until age 29. Bread & Gravy is the first and only band he’s ever been in. In juxtaposition to the versatile Stephanie\, he’s a one trick pony on the piano. But his love for piano\, and his love for Stephanie shows through in his playing\, and he has truly played himself into one of the top accompanists around. As an MC\, he has tons of experience herding cats (err.. musicians) to make the Open Mic experience enjoyable and fair for all involved. His quick wit and inviting vibe tend to make the audience comfortable and relaxed\, which is what is needed to have a supportive environment for all performers.

Having been a Northwest staple for years\, he’s recently started to gain more notoriety with a popular set that was broadcast by Don’t Tell Comedy (you’ll find it on Youtube!)\, in addition to an episode of the newly released PBS series Roots of Comedy. Adam also won Portland’s Funniest Person in 2019 (and technically 2020).   \nOften intense\, but never taking himself too seriously\, Adam enjoys bringing (sometimes dragging) others along as he picks apart the absurdity of his own life and the world in which we live. He has a heart of gold and the charming wit of a traveling storyteller that captures your attention for reasons you can’t quite explain. Adam makes for a unique comedy experience that will tickle funny bones you didn’t even know you had.  \nFeature: Imani Denae (watch on YouTube)  \nImani is truly fantastic\, and is widely considered a rising star in PNW comedy circles. She has been performing stand-up comedy for 4 years\, and has developed an impressive following on social media\, all due to her hilarious material and unique style.  \nKnown for her astute and quirky observations\, witty puns\, and social commentary\, Imani was named one of the Willamette Weekly’s 2023 Funniest Five comedians and was also named an Undisputable Genius of Comedy in 2023 (an honor for Oregon comics). Through her comedy\, Imani brings more awareness to the unique experiences we live and breathe every day\, while simultaneously making her audience laugh at the unexpected.
