VIP TABLES AVAILABLE HERE \nJoin us for FREE JAZZ SUNDAY in the Sunset Lounge on Sunday\, June 1\, as the Peninsula College Jazz Ensemble takes the stage for an afternoon of incredible music and local talent. This dynamic performance will feature vocals by Robbin Eaves\, Chris Moon\, Peninsula College vocalist Avery Saul\, and a special guest appearance by acclaimed Seattle-based composer and pianist Nelda Swiggett.  \nNelda Swiggett has been a prominent force on Seattle’s jazz scene since the early 1990s. As a bandleader and award-winning composer\, she has headlined at many of the Northwest’s premier jazz venues\, including the Seattle Jazz Fellowship\, the Earshot Jazz Festival\, Bumbershoot\, and the Bellevue Jazz Festival. With five acclaimed albums released on OA2 Records\, Nelda’s music has earned praise and international airplay.  \nHer original compositions and big band arrangements have been performed by top ensembles such as the Garfield High School Jazz Band and the Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra. In addition to co-leading Clif & Nelda’s Little Big Band and composing for the Megabopolis sextet\, she also performs with her quintet in “For the Birds”—a powerful multimedia project combining live music\, poetry\, and images to reflect on climate change. A dedicated educator and versatile performer\, Nelda brings a unique voice and creative spirit to every stage.   \nGeneral Admission seating is first come\, first-served and not guaranteed throughout the event. Join us for Open Mic Mondays in the Sunset Lounge\, hosted by Bread & Gravy Duo. \nThe Sunset Bar & Lounge opens to the public at 5PM and will serve small bites and drinks throughout the event. Signup for open mic begins at 6PM; open mic starts at 6:15PM. This is a free\, all-ages event – no RSVP or ticket required. \nABOUT BREAD & GRAVY\nBread & Gravy Duo is a popular husband and wife act (Stephanie and Jess Doenges) who perform songs across many styles and genres. They feature powerful female vocals\, eclectic piano\, rhythm guitar\, and the occasional flute and harmonica. They have hosted or cohosted many Open Mics on the peninsula\, including ‘Open Mic at the Buzz’\, ‘The Junction Open Jam’\, ‘The Rainshadow Open Mic’\, and most recently at ‘Open Mic at the Sit-N-Bull’. They often play as a bigger band\, adding steady stalwarts such as Jerry Gilleland (drums) and Jason Taylor (bass and harmonies) and have also collaborated with dozens of other local musicians\, so one never knows who will come sit in with them on a given night. Follow @breadandgravymusic for more. \nSTEPHANIE DOENGES (SOUND)\nStephanie is one of the most established and recognized musicians on the peninsula. She has been playing music since a young age\, and has been in local bands such as Restless\, Luck of the Draw\, Rolling Waters\, and the Cornstalks. For the past twelve years\, she has been the face and voice of Bread and Gravy in all of its formations. While her voice is a main draw\, and guitar is her most common instrument\, she often surprises and astounds with riveting flute and harmonica solos. \nStephanie has run sound for Open Mics for many years now\, and she’s grown very adept at dialing people in quickly\, as well as tailoring the sound to any nuance the performer displays. \nJESS DOENGES (MC)\nJess is the quintessential late bloomer\, who didn’t touch a musical instrument until age 29. Bread & Gravy is the first and only band he’s ever been in. In juxtaposition to the versatile Stephanie\, he’s a one trick pony on the piano. But his love for piano\, and his love for Stephanie shows through in his playing\, and he has truly played himself into one of the top accompanists around. As an MC\, he has tons of experience herding cats (err.. musicians) to make the Open Mic experience enjoyable and fair for all involved. His quick wit and inviting vibe tend to make the audience comfortable and relaxed\, which is what is needed to have a supportive environment for all performers.

Whether you’re a former athlete\, a current enthusiast\, or simply looking to improve your overall well-being\, this conversation is for you! \nMODERATOR: LEIGH MORGAN\, BASKETBALL & TENNIS (CLASS OF 1986)\nA three sport star at PAHS\, Leigh Morgan was the most valuable player in the 1986 State High School basketball tournament\, where the Riders girls finished second\, their highest finish ever. She was also MVP of the AAA Girls All Star Game that same year. In tennis\, she played on Port Angeles High School’s only state championship team in 1986\, finishing second in doubles with Nicole Ostrowski. She was also a two-time All-League soccer player. In college\, she was starting point guard at Duke where she finished as the No. 3 Duke player all time for single game assists\, No. 2 in double digit assists\, No. 2 in minutes player per game\, and No. 9 in three-point field goal percentage. Formerly COO for the Gates Foundation in Seattle\, she currently chairs the Fred Hutch Cancer Center board of directors\, is CEO of Imaginal Leadership Strategies and hosts a popular podcast called  “The Space in Between Podcast”. \nMIKE BRIGGS\, FOOTBALL (CLASS OF 1960)\nA three sports star at PAHS\, Briggs played on the outstanding 1959 football team that arguably was the best football team in PAHS history\, losing only to Everett in the opening game of the season. He is often called the best student athlete to ever come out of the school\, serving as the PAHS Salutatorian in 1960. Playing both offense and defense\, he went on to be an All Pacific Coast Conference tackle at the University of Washington in 1963. He was also an academic All-American and played for the Huskies in the 1964 Rose Bowl. After receiving a degree in Physics at the UW\, he went on to receive his MBA from Harvard\, and had an extremely successful business career\, serving as the CEO for several companies. \nSHERRI FELTON\, TRACK & BASKETBALL (CLASS OF 1977) \nFelton made the Seattle Times Golden Girl list of the top 40 female multi-sport athletes in State of Washington high school history in 1989. She was All-State in basketball\, setting state tournament records for two game (70 points and 28 field goals) and single game scoring (39 points). She high jumped 5-11 during her senior year\, which was the best in the nation. She qualified for the USA national team trials in the pentathlon\, and was all-league in volleyball\, basketball and track. She went on to become the first female to high jump over 6-0 at the University of Washington\, and set the Husky single game basketball scoring record of 36 points against WSU\, which stood until all-time NCAA scoring leader Kelsey Plum broke it. \nBARRY WILCOX\, CYCLING (CLASS OF 1996) \nA multiple national champion in the 15 to 16 year old age category in the sport of road cycling and a member of the United States Junior National Cycling Team during his sophomore and junior years at Port Angeles High School. He was also a consistent top five finisher in a number of professional races amongst men years’ older than him. Unfortunately\, he was also involved in an automobile accident during his junior year at PAHS that resulted in a spinal cord injury and quadriplegia. A few years later Barry would play wheelchair rugby with a couple different teams across the nation and two of which won national championships. He got his second chance to race bicycles again\, although a hand cycle\, in 2015. and has been on many world cup podiums around the globe. His greatest accomplishment was at the 2023 World Paracycling Championships in Scotland where he claimed a bronze medal in the road race. He is currently on the Unites States Para National Cycling Team and hoping to compete in the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.

Local photographers Thompson Holmes\, Richard Kohler\, Ernst-Ulrich Schäfer and Philippe Tauran are have been working in the medium of monochrome photography for many years collectively. Through much effort and practice\, they have found that the essence of visual subject matter can genuinely be shown in monochromatic style. \nThe light and the composition are very important in capturing the moment: everything is expressed in terms of light\, from bright white to dark black\, and in many wonderful shades of gray in between. DESCRIPTION:Field Arts & Events Hall welcomes you to share your talent on our Sunset Lounge stage! Join us for Open Mic Mondays in the Sunset Lounge\, hosted by Bread & Gravy Duo. \nThe Sunset Bar & Lounge opens to the public at 5PM and will serve small bites and drinks throughout the event. Signup for open mic begins at 6PM; open mic starts at 6:15PM. This is a free\, all-ages event – no RSVP or ticket required. \nABOUT BREAD & GRAVY\nBread & Gravy Duo is a popular husband and wife act (Stephanie and Jess Doenges) who perform songs across many styles and genres. They feature powerful female vocals\, eclectic piano\, rhythm guitar\, and the occasional flute and harmonica. They have hosted or cohosted many Open Mics on the peninsula\, including ‘Open Mic at the Buzz’\, ‘The Junction Open Jam’\, ‘The Rainshadow Open Mic’\, and most recently at ‘Open Mic at the Sit-N-Bull’. They often play as a bigger band\, adding steady stalwarts such as Jerry Gilleland (drums) and Jason Taylor (bass and harmonies) and have also collaborated with dozens of other local musicians\, so one never knows who will come sit in with them on a given night. Follow @breadandgravymusic for more. \nSTEPHANIE DOENGES (SOUND)\nStephanie is one of the most established and recognized musicians on the peninsula. She has been playing music since a young age\, and has been in local bands such as Restless\, Luck of the Draw\, Rolling Waters\, and the Cornstalks. For the past twelve years\, she has been the face and voice of Bread and Gravy in all of its formations. While her voice is a main draw\, and guitar is her most common instrument\, she often surprises and astounds with riveting flute and harmonica solos. \nStephanie has run sound for Open Mics for many years now\, and she’s grown very adept at dialing people in quickly\, as well as tailoring the sound to any nuance the performer displays. \nJESS DOENGES (MC)\nJess is the quintessential late bloomer\, who didn’t touch a musical instrument until age 29. Bread & Gravy is the first and only band he’s ever been in. In juxtaposition to the versatile Stephanie\, he’s a one trick pony on the piano. But his love for piano\, and his love for Stephanie shows through in his playing\, and he has truly played himself into one of the top accompanists around. As an MC\, he has tons of experience herding cats (err.. musicians) to make the Open Mic experience enjoyable and fair for all involved. His quick wit and inviting vibe tend to make the audience comfortable and relaxed\, which is what is needed to have a supportive environment for all performers.

DESCRIPTION:Field Arts & Events Hall welcomes you to share your talent on our Sunset Lounge stage! Join us for Open Mic Mondays in the Sunset Lounge\, hosted by Bread & Gravy Duo. \nThe Sunset Bar & Lounge opens to the public at 5PM and will serve small bites and drinks throughout the event. Signup for open mic begins at 6PM; open mic starts at 6:15PM. This is a free\, all-ages event – no RSVP or ticket required. \nABOUT BREAD & GRAVY\nBread & Gravy Duo is a popular husband and wife act (Stephanie and Jess Doenges) who perform songs across many styles and genres. They feature powerful female vocals\, eclectic piano\, rhythm guitar\, and the occasional flute and harmonica. They have hosted or cohosted many Open Mics on the peninsula\, including ‘Open Mic at the Buzz’\, ‘The Junction Open Jam’\, ‘The Rainshadow Open Mic’\, and most recently at ‘Open Mic at the Sit-N-Bull’. They often play as a bigger band\, adding steady stalwarts such as Jerry Gilleland (drums) and Jason Taylor (bass and harmonies) and have also collaborated with dozens of other local musicians\, so one never knows who will come sit in with them on a given night. Follow @breadandgravymusic for more. \nSTEPHANIE DOENGES (SOUND)\nStephanie is one of the most established and recognized musicians on the peninsula. She has been playing music since a young age\, and has been in local bands such as Restless\, Luck of the Draw\, Rolling Waters\, and the Cornstalks. For the past twelve years\, she has been the face and voice of Bread and Gravy in all of its formations. While her voice is a main draw\, and guitar is her most common instrument\, she often surprises and astounds with riveting flute and harmonica solos. \nStephanie has run sound for Open Mics for many years now\, and she’s grown very adept at dialing people in quickly\, as well as tailoring the sound to any nuance the performer displays. \nJESS DOENGES (MC)\nJess is the quintessential late bloomer\, who didn’t touch a musical instrument until age 29. Bread & Gravy is the first and only band he’s ever been in. In juxtaposition to the versatile Stephanie\, he’s a one trick pony on the piano. But his love for piano\, and his love for Stephanie shows through in his playing\, and he has truly played himself into one of the top accompanists around. As an MC\, he has tons of experience herding cats (err.. musicians) to make the Open Mic experience enjoyable and fair for all involved. His quick wit and inviting vibe tend to make the audience comfortable and relaxed\, which is what is needed to have a supportive environment for all performers.
