SUMMARY:JFFA & Field Hall in Harmony: Nano Stern
DESCRIPTION:Presented in partnership with Juan de Fuca Foundation for the Arts\nJFFA & Field Hall IN HARMONY: Nano Stern\nTuesday\, October 8 @ 7:30PM | Donna M. Morris Theater\nTickets at jffa.org \n“Nano Stern is the best Chilean singer-songwriter of his generation\, with his lyrics\, melodies\, message\, humor and heart.” (Joan Baez\, USA) \nJFFA and Field Hall are proud to present this partner event as part of our IN HARMONY series.  \nNano Stern is a multi-instrumentalist\, composer and songwriter with strong roots in the traditional songbook of South America. His music approaches folk\, rock\, jazz\, trova and experimental sounds from a contemporary perspective. \nThe Chilean artist is currently presenting his latest album “Aún creo en la belleza” (“I still believe in beauty”)\, which is his 9th studio record. This album comes after a long period of sonic and poetic experimentation which has allowed the expansion of his creative horizons. Stern’s artistic language looks within subtle and simple worlds in search for balance between poetry and music. In this intense and saturated world that we live\, he creates a refuge of words and sounds that reflect upon the concerns and urgencies of our time.

SUMMARY:JFFA Presents Churchill Starring David Payne
DESCRIPTION:October 22 | JFFA Presents Churchill Starring David Payne\nCLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nWinston Churchill\, has just been awarded honorary US citizenship by President John F. Kennedy. In recognition of this unprecedented occasion\, The American-Oxford Society has asked the former Prime Minister to address them and discuss what this honor means to him. \nIn this often funny\, sometimes touching and always engaging one-man-show… veteran British actor David Payne brings Churchill to life onstage. Audiences will be delighted to hear of his exploits during the Boer War\, his constant battles with Britain’s fellow politicians\, and his special relationship with America and America’s presidents. But most telling of all\, Churchill enlightens the audience with intimate and touching details of the two special women in his life—his wife Clementine and Queen Elizabeth. \nWith elements of The Crown and The Darkest Hour\, David Payne once again gives audiences an opportunity to spend an evening with one of the greatest historical figures in the world—Sir Winston Churchill.
