SUMMARY:Heart of a Lion
DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Connections: Heart of a Lion\nScreening with post-show discussion featuring filmmaker Joe Pontecorvo and Mark Elbroch of the Olympic Cougar Project\nSunday\, March 22nd @ 3PM | Donna M. Morris Theater\nPay-what-makes-you-happy | Donations support Heart of a Lion Impact Campaign \n*Our ticketing platform Ludus charges a 5% service fee for all card transactions. To avoid this fee\, visit our Box Office at 201 W. Front Street and pay via cash or check. Hours: Monday-Saturday 10AM-2PM. \nHeart of a Lion is a feature length documentary that follows biologist Mark Elbroch on a sweeping journey from the rugged wilderness of Jackson\, Wyoming\, to the misty forests of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. \nAt the center of the story are two mountain lion mothers\, F61 and Yoko\, whose lives Elbroch has tracked for years. As his connection with these elusive cats deepens\, the film reveals an intimate and rarely seen portrait of one of North America’s most misunderstood predators. Heart of a Lion explores not only the ecological role of mountain lions but also the emotional intelligence and resilience that define their lives in the wild. \nJoin us for a screening of Heart of a Lion followed by a post-show discussion with filmmaker Joe Pontecorvo and Mark Elbroch of the Olympic Cougar Project. By donation event: proceeds will benefit the Heart of a Lion Impact Campaign \nA portion of funds raised from this screening will go directly to the Heart of a Lion Impact Campaign. You can help! By supporting this film\, you’re helping to amplify conservation efforts and to protect the wild spaces we all share. \nThis campaign works to: \nFoster Coexistence\nBuild understanding around mountain lions—their intelligence\, their vital role in the ecosystem\, and how people can live safely and respectfully alongside them. \nPromote Connectivity\nSupport the protection and restoration of wildlife corridors\, essential pathways that allow mountain lions and many other species to survive in an increasingly fragmented landscape. \nInspire Action\nConnect audiences with conservation partners and initiatives working toward a future where people and predators can coexist. \n  \n\n
