SUMMARY:TAE & The Neighborly
DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Presents: TAE & The Neighborly\nWednesday\, September 24 @ 7PM | Sunset Lounge Dance Party\n*Tickets $20\, General Admission | Financial assistance available – click here to apply\n*Our ticketing platform Ludus charges a 5% service fee for all credit card transactions. To avoid this fee\, visit our Box Office at 201 W. Front Street and pay via cash or check. Hours: Monday-Saturday 10AM-2PM. \nCelebrate the start of fall with one final summer-style dance party and happy hour in the Sunset Lounge! This general admission event will offer a dance floor with plenty of room to boogie\, and Happy Hour specials from 5PM – 6:30PM before the music starts. \nTAE & The Neighborly\, a Wisconsin based Soul-pop R&B group\, found themselves playing music together in a very unconventional way. \nThey were all neighbors\, each one living alone on one floor of a five-story flat. Cake baking is a shared passion of the five member group\, but in the sugar shortages early in the 2020 pandemic\, they found themselves so continually knocking on each other’s doors asking for a single cup of sugar that a group decision was made to all move in together and share cake-baking resources. And since everyone knows all good rhythms begin in the kitchen\, it wasn’t before long that the group began to write and perform together  across the nation. \nCritics hail the group as “having more kick than a bagged-up mule” (Rotary Times)  and their live show “…going down smoother than a can of [beans] warmed on the campfire” (Cowboy Gazette). All in all\, if you are looking for a dense show that will give you more inspiration fuel for self lovin’\, world changin’\, and consideration havin’ meet them where the music is made to be shared. \nOur mission is to make art accessible to everyone. Financial assistance is available for this event through our #fieldhallforall program. Patrons can request a discount of up to 100%. Click here to apply for financial assistance.

We thank you for all levels of support – including thunderous applause for our local artists! \nABOUT BREAD & GRAVY\nBread & Gravy Duo is a popular husband and wife act (Stephanie and Jess Doenges) who perform songs across many styles and genres. They feature powerful female vocals\, eclectic piano\, rhythm guitar\, and the occasional flute and harmonica. They have hosted or cohosted many Open Mics on the peninsula\, including ‘Open Mic at the Buzz’\, ‘The Junction Open Jam’\, ‘The Rainshadow Open Mic’\, and most recently at ‘Open Mic at the Sit-N-Bull’. They often play as a bigger band\, adding steady stalwarts such as Jerry Gilleland (drums) and Jason Taylor (bass and harmonies) and have also collaborated with dozens of other local musicians\, so one never knows who will come sit in with them on a given night. Follow @breadandgravymusic for more. \nSTEPHANIE DOENGES (SOUND)\nStephanie is one of the most established and recognized musicians on the peninsula. She has been playing music since a young age\, and has been in local bands such as Restless\, Luck of the Draw\, Rolling Waters\, and the Cornstalks. For the past twelve years\, she has been the face and voice of Bread and Gravy in all of its formations. While her voice is a main draw\, and guitar is her most common instrument\, she often surprises and astounds with riveting flute and harmonica solos.\nStephanie has run sound for Open Mics for many years now\, and she’s grown very adept at dialing people in quickly\, as well as tailoring the sound to any nuance the performer displays. \nJESS DOENGES (MC)\nJess is the quintessential late bloomer\, who didn’t touch a musical instrument until age 29. Bread & Gravy is the first and only band he’s ever been in. In juxtaposition to the versatile Stephanie\, he’s a one trick pony on the piano. But his love for piano\, and his love for Stephanie shows through in his playing\, and he has truly played himself into one of the top accompanists around. As an MC\, he has tons of experience herding cats (err.. musicians) to make the Open Mic experience enjoyable and fair for all involved. His quick wit and inviting vibe tend to make the audience comfortable and relaxed\, which is what is needed to have a supportive environment for all performers.

SUMMARY:JFFA & Field Hall IN HARMONY: Jesse Roper
DESCRIPTION:JFFA & Field Hall IN HARMONY: Jesse Roper\nSaturday\, September 20th | 2 Shows: 2PM Matinee and 7PM Candlelight Show  \nField Hall is thrilled to partner with our friends at Juan de Fuca Foundation for the Arts for another “In Harmony” series\, bringing some JFFA Festival favorites back to Port Angeles. We’re starting off with a bang with two shows from crowd favorite\, Jesse Roper! \nJesse is a master at connecting his personal story and experiences to his songwriting – crafting narratives that hit on life’s challenges and eccentricities – but that remain upbeat\, engaging and wildly entertaining songs. Jesse will be joining us for two very special performances: a matinee show and an evening candlelight performance. \nGuests can also choose an optional add-on at checkout to enjoy an intimate meet and greet experience with Jesse starting at 6PM prior to his 7PM show. Tickets for the meet and greet are open to attendees of either performance and include a signed poster\, private performance\, and complimentary drinks and appetizers. \n\n\n\n\n\nBased in Victoria\, BC\, Jesse Roper is a blues/Americana artist with a penchant for writing modern indie-infused blues music and delivering bombastic live performances buoyed by his virtuosic guitar playing. His innate and impressive musical talent has served him well\, giving him the flexibility to play with soul icon Booker T. Jones\, rock veteran Colin James\, blues belter Beth Hart\, and Canadian legend Burton Cummings. The stage is where Roper shines. It has been his home since overcoming crippling stage fright during his early twenties. Fear is a part of Roper’s past that barely seems real today – especially when you see the in-concert image of a six-string soldier\, hair matted to his face\, tearing up the stage\, without a hint of second-guessing. \nRoper’s last album ‘Horizons’ marked a sonic high point in his career thus far. Working closely with famed JUNO-nominated producer Gus van Go (Metric\, The Stills\, Whitehorse\, Arkells\, The Trews\, Sam Roberts) on that new collection of songs has pushed Roper into creating some of his best work. “Recording with Gus and Werner F was on a whole new level. \nRoper released the first single off his upcoming LP (to be released in late 2023) “Make It All Work Out” on March 29th\, 2023. The song charted on Canadian terrestrial and satellite radio throughout the spring and early summer. Now all eyes are on the next release\, “Throw This Rope” produced by Gus van Go (Metric\, Whitehorse\, Sam Roberts Band). The song will be the second of multiple energetic\, fresh\, soulful and r&b inspired tracks from a forthcoming LP that harkens the voices of JJ Cale\, The Teskey Brothers\, Ben Harper and others – while maintaining Roper’s strong and unique expression in the genre.

Jones. \nAmong his dynamic studio experiments and performance situations\, his former stage/production persona\, ‘Lucky Brown’\, is probably the most widely-recognized via his relationship with German boutique funk and jazz record label\, Tramp Records\, for whom Joel has written\, arranged\, recorded\, produced and licensed more than two-dozen vinyl 45RPM singles as well as six full-length albums and EPs. This relationship has led to Ricci being hailed by music mavens worldwide as a “deep funk pioneer.” \nIn addition to his prolific output of original jazz\, funk\, blues\, and soul compositions\, Joel’s trumpet has appeared on hundreds of independent recordings. One special feature of Joel’s original music is that it comes directly from the heart\, and carries with it the gravity of spiritual and cultural consequence. This sentiment is echoed by the handful of Pacific Northwest rhythmic groups who cover his original tunes as nightly staples in their live show.

SUMMARY:Ian Maksin: Songs of The Vagabond Cello

To avoid this fee\, visit our Box Office at 201 W. Front Street and pay via cash or check. Hours: Monday-Saturday 10AM-2PM. \nBREAKING BOUNDARIES both musical and geographical\, cellist\, composer and multilingual vocalist IAN MAKSIN has created his own unique style by blending elements of different genres and traditional music from around the globe in a new way using his cello as the main unifying force. \nONE-MAN ORCHESTRA: In addition to cello\, he used an electronic device called the loop pedal\, which allows him to create “loops” or layers by recording and replaying his own playing in real time. \nSINGING IN 30 LANGUAGES: What began as a hobby and a passion for linguistics and travel has become part of a unique concert experience. At this time Ian Maksin sings in Ukrainian\, Polish\, Russian\, English\, Farsi\, Armenian\, French\, Italian\, Arabic\, Hebrew\, Mongolian\, Bambara (one of the tongues spoken in West Africa) and many other exotic languages. Most of this repertoire was amassed by Maksin during his world travels\, jam sessions and collaborations with local musicians. Many of his original songs and instrumental compositions are also infused with flavors of ethnic music from countries and regions where he drew inspiration from: Mongolia\, West Africa\, Middle East\, the Balkans\, Andalusian flamenco. \nTHE GLOBAL MUSICIAN: Ian Maksin was born in Leningrad\, former USSR\, into a multinational family and grew up absorbing many cultures and traditions from an early age. He began playing guitar and piano at age 3 and cello at age 6 at the School for Gifted Children in Leningrad and then came to the USA at 16 to continue studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. After working for many years in the classical genre including a three-year tenure with the New World Symphony in Miami Ian has decided to look for his own musical path. His diverse musical experience\, including playing rock and blues guitar and passion for jazz and world music has allowed him to take the cello to a new dimension and develop his own distinct style as a musician and composer. \nIn Ian’s own words: “At some point I realized that music is much more than mere entertainment. Music is one of most powerful and unifying forces in the world\, capable of healing\, inspiring\, bringing people together and bringing peace among them. I believe that cello will save the world”  \n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Presented by Pigs on the Wing: Echoes of Pink Floyd Tour
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Pigs on the Wing\nEchoes of Pink Floyd Tour\nSaturday\, July 26th @ 8:00PM | Donna M. Morris Theater\nTickets $25 – $50 | CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nFrom its garage-rock roots in 2006 as a one-off club show\, to immersive multimedia productions in top venues throughout the West Coast\, Portland Oregon-based Pink Floyd tribute Pigs on the Wing has built a loyal following dedicated to the band’s high-energy take on Pink Floyd’s music. All members of Pigs on the Wing are seasoned veterans of the Pacific NW rock scene and are unapologetic in bringing their wide-ranging musical influences to the table. Setting the band aside from other tribute-rock acts\, Pigs on the Wing balance a decidedly un-tribute-like attitude towards the music with the precision and authenticity expected by Pink Floyd fans. \nPigs on the Wing has toured relentlessly throughout the Western US and in recent years featured full album performances of Dark Side of the Moon\, Wish You Were Here\, Animals\, and The Wall. None are bier fans of the work of Pink Floyd than the members of Pigs on the Wing themselves\, and the band takes their role as stewards of the music seriously – something immediately evident in the bands’ immersive performances. \nPigs on the Wing’s 2024-2025 tour\, “Echoes of Pink Floyd”\, is a second act to the band’s previous year’s tour. As before\, the Echoes of Pink Floyd tour will feature a new selection of the very best of classic-era Pink Floyd cuts organized into 2 distinct sets. Rather than performing a single album from start to end\, expect to hear the band focus on their favorite sections of the classic albums\, including hits\, deep cuts\, and the band’s trademark willingness to explore the sonic space in experimental improvisation. \nPigs on the Wing is: Matt Sulikowski (sax); Matt Jones (keys / vocals); Bryan Fairfield (drums); Jason Baker (guitar / vocals); Dave Lindenbaum (guitar / vocals); Holly Brooks (vocals); Eric Welder (bass / vocals) \nOfficial Website | Facebook Page | YouTube Channel \n
