She joins us in the Sunset Lounge for a special Halloween event featuring some of her most-requested darker stories\, speckled with her signature sense of humor and accented with live music. \nWeitkamp’s darker stories are some of her most requested pieces all year long\, not just around Halloween. Even more surprising is the fact that the audiences find themselves laughing in the oddest of places. Kim’s comedic abilities are on display as she carefully tucks moments of laughter into her darker pieces. A simple and effective way to give the audience a moment to breathe. The best surprise of the night is when she pulls out her guitar and\, with a haunting but milk and honey voice\, closes several pieces with music. \nWeitkamp is never gory or insanely violent\, but always quirky\, surprising and psychologically unnerving. Women spin off their skin\, children rise from frigid waters\, and head bones rattle in their graves. This event is not recommended for children under the age of 13.  \nThis event is presented with the Story People of Clallam County who work to to foster the ancient art of storytelling by providing opportunities to tell and listen to stories\, offer workshops\, produce public events\, and maintain a network for storytellers. \n  \n \nABOUT THE ARTIST\nNever one to be boxed in\, Kim Weitkamp’s wandering and curious mind is on display for all to see through her award-winning stories\, songs and writing. Sam Payne\, host of SiriusXM Appleseed Radio stated that\, “Now\, more than ever\, we are seeing Kim Weitkamp the writer.” Her tales and songs are well crafted and the boundaries of your mind and even your heart will always be expanded. She does all of this with impeccable comedic timing. \nKim grew up in Amish Country as the middle child of exhausted parents. Labeled by teachers as high-spirited and too talkative\, Kim took those comments and channeled them into a lifetime of high-energy\, heartfelt and hilarious artistry and we are better for it. \nKim performs at festivals and theaters around the country\, has written an award-winning folk operetta and has been a guest editor and contributor for various publications. She was awarded the 2024 Ohio for the Arts Grant as an artist mentor\, was nominated for the Blue Ridge Excellence for the Arts award\, and awarded the prestigious Leadership in Communication Award by Toastmasters in Washington\, D.C. DESCRIPTION:North Olympic Watercolorists & Field Hall Gallery Present: “Watercolor: Studio to Gallery”\nThursday – Saturdays 10AM – 2PM | Field Hall Pat Donlin Lobby\, Gallery\nAdmission is free\, donations appreciated. \nThe North Olympic Watercolorists (NOW) and Field Hall Gallery have partnered to present an immersive journey through the world of watercolor art. “Watercolor: From Studio to Gallery\,” opened on Tuesday\, August 13th showcasing a vibrant display of unique styles\, techniques\, and subjects and inviting visitors to take a glimpse behind the brushstrokes through studio vignettes. The exhibit will run through October 26th.\n\nThe exhibit features pieces by NOW members Kristi Kaiser\, Mary Hughes\, Shirley Rudolf\, Marilyn Hiestand\, Janet Flatley\, Melissa Doyel\, Katie Carlson\, Annette Clem\, Karen Lavender Peterson\, Dee Margeson\, Lyn Conlan\, Beverly Beighle\, Suzanne Rescigna\, Georgianna Seko\, Kristin Warner\, Barb Diekfuss\, Shing Ledgerwood\, Connie Drysdale\, Shannon Goose\, and Betsy Robins. The exhibit will also showcase works from the late Pat Donlin\, a dedicated artist and arts patron whose early investment in Field Hall helped create the very space where the exhibit will take place.\n\nThe Field Hall Gallery is open 10 AM – 2 PM Thursdays through Saturdays and for two hours prior to most performances. Within a year of his move to Hollywood he had established himself at the top comedy clubs\, completed work on two television pilots\, and had his debut comedy album\, “Carpool Companion” chosen as LaughSpin Magazine’s album of the year when it was released in 2012. \nIn 2018 Tyler released his second album\, “Full Circle” which was selected in January as the SiruisXM 98 artist-of-the-month and debuted at #2 on the Billboard Comedy Charts. In 2018 Tyler also released his Dry Bar Comedy special “Wait for it” which has already received over 5 million views online. \nTyler continues to perform across the country at comedy clubs\, colleges\, and theaters bringing his incredible brand of humor wherever he goes. Don’t miss this lively lunchtime concert\, perfect for grabbing a bite and enjoying great music.\n\n\nMichael Rivers Singer\, Songwriter \nMost recognized as the director of the Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers (PMGS)\, a group he has directed for over 20 years\, Michael has also coached vocal students and toured performing original Folk Gospel. \nHe has recorded 3 CDs of his music and songs from those recordings have been played on Seattle folk stations and i heart radio. \nFor the last few years Michael has been collaborating with Craig Buhler\, a local legend in the Jazz scene. \nCraig Buhler\, Singer\, Composer\, Musician \nA member of the Olympic Peninsula arts community for over two decades\, Craig Buhler is active as a composer\, recording artist\, jazz saxophonist\, vocalist\, producer\, educator\, and advocate. \nHe is a member of the California rock group “Honk\,” which recorded and toured alongside “The Beach Boys\,” “Loggins & Messina\,” and other top artists.  “Honk” continues to sell out several Orange County venues. \nCraig’s nine CDs and three books circulate worldwide\, and his improvisation workshop is attended by many fine local musicians. \nSince 2017\, Craig has sung and played clarinet with Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers.  He worked with the Stardust Big Band for 15 years\, including eight years as director \nMichael plays keys and sings. Craig plays sax and clarinet and narrates decades worth of pop music history and trivia. Audiences of all ages have been delighted by the playful energy these two musicians create! \nCome see these two dynamic musicians perform\, free of charge\, Thursday October 3 at the Field Arts & Events Hall in Port Angeles.

She will be separating from military service this summer\, but the good news is that she loves it here so much she plans to make the Pacific Northwest her permanent home.\n\nAs a singer/songwriter\, Casey creates new and refreshing sounds by combining folk\, country\, Americana and pop music and can often be found entertaining audiences at our local establishments. Says Casey\, “the breathtaking surroundings and vibrant local music community serve as a constant inspiration for me”.\n\nSo come see and hear Casey on Thursday\, September 19th between 11 am and 1 pm at the Field Hall. She will set up downstairs across from the Cafe. Click here to reserve your spot for this event. \nThe North Olympic Watercolorists (NOW) and Field Hall Gallery have partnered to present an immersive journey through the world of watercolor art. “Watercolor: From Studio to Gallery\,” opens on Tuesday\, August 13th showcasing a vibrant display of unique styles\, techniques\, and subjects and inviting visitors to take a glimpse behind the brushstrokes through studio vignettes. The exhibit will run through October 26th.\n\nThe free opening reception will take place August 13th from 5PM – 8PM in the Pat Donlin Lobby. Several of the local artists featured in the exhibit will be onsite to discuss their work and offer insight into the watercolor process. Refreshments will be available for purchase; no RSVP is required.\n\nThe exhibit features pieces by NOW members Kristi Kaiser\, Mary Hughes\, Shirley Rudolf\, Marilyn Hiestand\, Janet Flatley\, Melissa Doyel\, Katie Carlson\, Annette Clem\, Karen Lavender Peterson\, Dee Margeson\, Lyn Conlan\, Beverly Beighle\, Suzanne Rescigna\, Georgianna Seko\, Kristin Warner\, Barb Diekfuss\, Shing Ledgerwood\, Connie Drysdale\, Shannon Goose\, and Betsy Robins. The exhibit will also showcase works from the late Pat Donlin\, a dedicated artist and arts patron whose early investment in Field Hall helped create the very space where the exhibit will take place.\n\nThe Field Hall Gallery is open 10 AM – 2 PM Thursdays through Saturdays and for two hours prior to most performances. DESCRIPTION:August 5 @ 6PM | Ten Years After: A Photo Journey of the Elwha\nBook Release Event with John Gussman\nSunset Bar & Lounge open 5PM – 9PM\nClick here to RSVP for this event \nJoin Field Hall and local photographer John Gussman for a book release event and First Fed Community Conversation surrounding his new book\, Ten Years After. \nTen Years After showcases the changes on the Elwha River during dam removal. At the time (2010 to 2014)\, the removal of two working dams was the largest dam removal in history. August 26\, 2024\, marks ten years since the completion of dam removal. The hand-picked images in this book came from the thousands of images that John Gussman photographed during that time period. The book includes many photos not previously published. Ten Years After contains 60 pages of full-color photographs in 8.5″ x 11″ soft cover format. Order your copy and own a part of history. John will hand sign every book sold at this event. \nThis event will take place in the Sunset Lounge. Space is limited; please RSVP.  \nABOUT THE ARTIST\nAfter getting a degree in photography\, John Gussman began working full time in 1973 as a staff photographer for a newspaper in the bay area. Moving to Washington State in 1979 to be closer to wilderness\, and with Olympic National Park as his backyard\, he began to photograph this new natural playground. \nIn 1982 John began his own business\, Doubleclick Productions\, and found he had a natural talent for photographing architecture and other commercial location work. It was consistent work to pay the bills\, always an important factor to the self employed. After doing that for over three decades\, John has come full circle in his career and now focuses most of his attention capturing landscapes\, people and adventure\, wildlife\, and the outdoor lifestyle. John has an extensive collection of stock images and video centered around the Olympic Peninsula as well as other geographic areas. With his intimate knowledge of the Olympic Peninsula natural environment\, he provides location services for commercial clients looking to film in the area. \nAlways looking for ways to push the boundaries for new perspectives\, John has worked since 2015 using UAV drones for both stills and video\, as well as aerial mapping work. He is FAA licensed and is insured to fly any commercial application for clients. \nWorking locally and abroad\, John is actively doing projects to help tell the stories of companies\, non-profits\, and environmental organizations to help tell the story of the planet.
