From there\, he became a founding member of Austin-based Americana ensemble The Belleville Outfit. The group toured the U.S. from 2007–2011\, during which time they released two critically acclaimed albums and played several major festivals\, including Austin City Limits\, Bonnaroo\, and MerleFest. The band was nominated for Best New and Emerging Artist by the Americana Music Association in 2009. \nWhen The Belleville Outfit disbanded in 2011\, Connor continued to write\, record\, and tour with Phoebe Hunt and Ghosts Along the Brazos\, amassing three more studio records between the two. After a stint touring with Country Music Hall-of-Famer Ray Price\, Connor became a permanent member of 10-time Grammy winner Asleep at the Wheel\, whom he toured the U.S. and Europe with from 2016–2022. During his time with The Wheel\, he had the opportunity to play with several American music icons\, including Willie Nelson\, George Strait\, James Taylor\, Paul Simon\, and Bonnie Raitt. \nWhen off the road\, he taught himself lutherie and started his bespoke guitar–making business\, Forsyth Instruments. He moved from Austin\, Texas to Port Angeles\, Washington in 2024.

The resulting outlaw ballads\, dirty jazz\, circus freakouts\, shanty-rags\, string band funk\, lonesome heart-breakers\, and whiskey bottle love songs blend together in what may be best described as ‘Cabaret Americana’: theatrical\, orchestral\, lyrical\, and endlessly danceable. \nThe group began as a nebula of traveling musicians formed around the songs of founder Pete Irving over 15 years ago. The Trinity Session was like a whisper that cut through the noise — and it was compelling. It stood out in the midst of the flash and bombast that came to define the late 80’s. The now classic recording combined folk\, blues and rock in a way that had never been heard before and went on to sell more than a million copies. \nFormed in Toronto in 1985 with siblings Michael Timmins on guitar\, Margo Timmins on vocals\, Peter Timmins on drums\, and Michael’s lifelong friend Alan Anton on bass\, the band has sparkled over the course of 29 albums. “I’ve known Alan longer than I’ve known Pete\,” says Michael. “We were friends before Pete was born.” \nUnlike most long-lasting groups\, Cowboy Junkies have never had a break up or taken a sanity-saving hiatus. He is 6 foot 6\, 360 pounds\, has two kids\, (one of them is on purpose) he’s been married for 13 years\, and has been clean and sober for 15 years. Sam likes to make jokes about what it’s like to be a sober parent. He also likes to make jokes about what jails like in Yakima. His first album and special\, Round Trip\, was recorded and filmed under the tutelage of Grammy-winning producer Dan Schlissel\, whose indie label\, Stand Up! Records\, Sam had recently signed a three-album deal with. Round Trip was released October 27th 2023 and immediately went to number one on the iTunes Comedy Charts. It even broke into the top 200 overall charts. Sam is a recurring guest and has been heard by an estimated 2.5 million listeners on the nationally syndicated “Bob & Tom Radio Show.” He has written for Newsweek. He was the runner-up in the 2021 Seattle International Comedy Competition and won the Comedy on Trial Competition in 2017. He has headlined multiple major comedy clubs including The Laugh Factory in Chicago. He’s also performed with the Addicts Comedy Tour and at NA and AA conventions all over the country. Through much effort and practice\, they have found that the essence of visual subject matter can genuinely be shown in monochromatic style. \nThe light and the composition are very important in capturing the moment: everything is expressed in terms of light\, from bright white to dark black\, and in many wonderful shades of gray in between. She was also MVP of the AAA Girls All Star Game that same year. In tennis\, she played on Port Angeles High School’s only state championship team in 1986\, finishing second in doubles with Nicole Ostrowski. She was also a two-time All-League soccer player. In college\, she was starting point guard at Duke where she finished as the No. 3 Duke player all time for single game assists\, No. 2 in double digit assists\, No. 2 in minutes player per game\, and No. 9 in three-point field goal percentage. Formerly COO for the Gates Foundation in Seattle\, she currently chairs the Fred Hutch Cancer Center board of directors\, is CEO of Imaginal Leadership Strategies and hosts a popular podcast called  “The Space in Between Podcast”. \nMIKE BRIGGS\, FOOTBALL (CLASS OF 1960)\nA three sports star at PAHS\, Briggs played on the outstanding 1959 football team that arguably was the best football team in PAHS history\, losing only to Everett in the opening game of the season. He is often called the best student athlete to ever come out of the school\, serving as the PAHS Salutatorian in 1960. Playing both offense and defense\, he went on to be an All Pacific Coast Conference tackle at the University of Washington in 1963. He was also an academic All-American and played for the Huskies in the 1964 Rose Bowl. After receiving a degree in Physics at the UW\, he went on to receive his MBA from Harvard\, and had an extremely successful business career\, serving as the CEO for several companies. \nSHERRI FELTON\, TRACK & BASKETBALL (CLASS OF 1977) \nFelton made the Seattle Times Golden Girl list of the top 40 female multi-sport athletes in State of Washington high school history in 1989. She was All-State in basketball\, setting state tournament records for two game (70 points and 28 field goals) and single game scoring (39 points). She high jumped 5-11 during her senior year\, which was the best in the nation. She qualified for the USA national team trials in the pentathlon\, and was all-league in volleyball\, basketball and track. She went on to become the first female to high jump over 6-0 at the University of Washington\, and set the Husky single game basketball scoring record of 36 points against WSU\, which stood until all-time NCAA scoring leader Kelsey Plum broke it. \nBARRY WILCOX\, CYCLING (CLASS OF 1996) \nA multiple national champion in the 15 to 16 year old age category in the sport of road cycling and a member of the United States Junior National Cycling Team during his sophomore and junior years at Port Angeles High School. He was also a consistent top five finisher in a number of professional races amongst men years’ older than him. Unfortunately\, he was also involved in an automobile accident during his junior year at PAHS that resulted in a spinal cord injury and quadriplegia. A few years later Barry would play wheelchair rugby with a couple different teams across the nation and two of which won national championships. He got his second chance to race bicycles again\, although a hand cycle\, in 2015. and has been on many world cup podiums around the globe. His greatest accomplishment was at the 2023 World Paracycling Championships in Scotland where he claimed a bronze medal in the road race. He is currently on the Unites States Para National Cycling Team and hoping to compete in the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.

Field Arts & Events Hall in Port Angeles is thrilled to announce auditions for Shakespeare at Sunset\, a selection of classic comic and romantic scenes and songs from the works of William Shakespeare. \nThis enchanting production will feature scenes from beloved plays such as Two Gentlemen of Verona\, A Midsummer Night’s Dream\, Romeo & Juliet\, and more\, all woven together in a fresh script written by Denise Winter of Key City Public Theater and will be directed by Steven Raider-Ginsburg of Field Hall. \nPerformance Dates: August 9\, 10\, 16\, and 17\, 2025 \nRehearsals: The two weeks leading up to the performance dates. \nCompensation: Actors will receive a stipend. \nAudition Dates & Times: \n• Tuesday\, May 20\, 2025: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM \n• Wednesday\, May 21\, 2025: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM \nAudition Location: Field Arts & Events Hall \nWhat to Prepare: \n• Please prepare two monologues: One contemporary monologue (2-5 minutes in length)\, One Shakespearean monologue (2-5 minutes in length) \n• Be prepared to read sides from the script. \n• Singers\, please prepare 16 bars of a song of your choice. \n• If you play an instrument\, please bring it and be prepared to play a selection. There will be a piano available. \n• Most importantly\, come ready to have some fun exploring these timeless characters! \nHow to Sign Up: \nTo schedule your audition slot or request any additional information\, please email Steven Raider-Ginsburg at artistic@fieldhallevents.org. \nAll ages and genders are warmly encouraged to audition. We are looking for a diverse and enthusiastic company to bring these iconic characters to life.
