The Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation has generously contributed a critical $1 million toward the final phase of construction for Field Arts & Events Hall, a state-of-the-art theater and conference facility in Port Angeles, scheduled to open in 2023.

The Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation Room on the second level, with sweeping views from the mountains to the strait, will host author readings, book signings, and lectures in celebration of the literary arts. This well-appointed room will also host receptions, meetings, and service the community in ways that will complement the performing and visual arts, at the Field Arts & Events Hall.

“The Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation is pleased to be a Founders Circle supporter of Field Arts & Events Hall, and its efforts to enrich cultural and educational experiences on the Olympic Peninsula,” said M. Lee McGraw, president, and trustee of the Elizabeth B. McGraw Foundation. McGraw is the granddaughter of Donald C. McGraw, former president and chairman of McGraw-Hill Inc., and Elizabeth B. McGraw, for whom the foundation is named. McGraw and her husband Van Lupo recently settled in Sequim, Wash., from Punta Gorda, Fla., where they had prior experience planning to construct an arts and cultural center.

“We are truly honored to receive the support from literary luminaries such as the McGraw family. Their generous gift plays an instrumental role in bringing Field Arts & Events Hall ever closer to serving our community with vibrant artistic programming and conference center events,” said Executive Director Steven Raider-Ginsburg.
