SUMMARY:Bonnie & Clyde the Musical: Filmed Live in London
DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Presents: Bonnie & Clyde the Musical\, Filmed Live in London\nSeptember 14 @ 12PM | Donna M. Morris Theater at Field Hall\nWaterfront Coffee Bar at Field Hall open 7AM – 4PM\nTickets $20 Adult\, $10 Youth\, CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nLet’s raise a little hell this fall! Starring Tony-Nominee Jeremy Jordan and Olivier-Nominee Frances Mayli McCann\, this cult-favorite Broadway musical re-tells the unbelievable true story of America’s most infamous couple\, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Captured in stunning\, world-class quality\, as they say “ain’t no way you won’t remember us.” \nFilmed live at Theatre Royal Drury Lane during two special one-off concert stagings in January 2022\, Bonnie & Clyde The Musical: Filmed Live features theatre royalty Jeremy Jordan as Clyde (The Great Gatsby\, Waitress\, Super Girl\, Newsies\, The Last Five Years) who originated the role of Clyde Barrow in the Broadway premiere of the production in 2011. He is joined by Frances Mayli McCann (Heathers\, Priscilla\, Queen of the Desert\, Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour) who went on to originate the role of Bonnie in the West End. \nBonnie & Clyde The Musical is the story of two small-town kids from the middle of nowhere who became the biggest folk heroes in all America. They craved adventure – and each other. Fearless\, shameless\, and alluring\, this is the electrifying story of love\, adventure and crime that captured the attention of an entire nation. \n \nABOUT THE SHOW\nBonnie and Clyde The Musical: Filmed Live features music by multi-Grammy®\, Tony® and Emmy® Award nominee Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde\, The Scarlett Pimpernell\, Death Note)\, lyrics by Tony® and Oscar® winner Don Black (Sunset Boulevard\, Aspects of Love)\, a book by Emmy® Award nominee Ivan Menchell (Blended [movie]\, The Cemetery Club\, Death Note The Musical). Wildhorn\, and Black were Tony-nominated for their score. \nProducer David Treatman said: “For many\, exposure to musical theatre begins at home or in school\, and my hope is that worldwide audiences will bring Bonnie & Clyde into their auditoriums and living rooms. \n“We were able to capture an extraordinary performance of this beloved show in an unusually vital way. There is an electricity that courses through the performances that we were able to translate to the screen through the excellence of the artists involved at every level of the production\, and an innovative approach to the taping. While nothing can replace the live experience\, our film harnesses the power of cinema to capture its essence\, preserving the energy of live performance while embracing the advantages of film\, delivering both the danger and excitement of the stage alongside the intimacy and intention of the camera at a price that anyone can afford.” \nThe filmed concert staging features some of the biggest names in musical theatre including George Maguire as Buck\, Natalie McQueen as Blanche\, Trevor Dion Nicholas as Preacher\, Liam Tamne as Ted\, Casey Al-Shaqsy as Stella\, Simon Anthony as Cop/Bud/Archie/Deputy Johnson\, Gillian Bevan as Cummie Barrow/Eleanor\, Eloise Davies as Trish\, Adrian Grove as Henry Barrow\, Debbie Kurup as Governor Miriam Ferguson\, Matthew Malthouse as Bob Alcorn\, Jeremy Secomb as Judge/Sheriff Schmid\, Russell Wilcox as Captain Frank Hamer\, and Julie Yammanee as Emma Parker. \nNick Winston directs the concerts with musical direction by Katy Richardson\, assistant direction by Alexzandra Sarmiento\, lighting design by Zoe Spurr\, set and costume design by Philip Whitcomb\, and sound design by Tom Marshall. The production team also includes production manager Phil McCandlish\, company stage manager Graham Harrison\, deputy stage manager Anne Baxter\, assistant stage manager Tom Fisher\, and dialect coach Charmian Hoare\, with children’s casting by Keston and Keston. \nThe band is made up of assistant musical director Chris Poon\, Kate Ingram\, Hannah Lawrance\, Kobi Pham\, Jack Pennifold\, Zach Okonkwo\, Elliot Lyte\, and Annie Blake. \nThe film is produced by David Treatman and Brett Sullivan\, with executive producers Max Johnson\, Adam Paulden\, Darren Bell\, and Jason Haigh-Ellery. \nThe film is Co-Produced by Owen Xu\, Mignon Xu\, Ryan Lee\, Howard Treatman\, Sophia Banar\, Simon Brook\, Allen Lin\, Clark Edmund Vaccaro\, Lisa Freedman\, Chris Oakland\, Brandon Hughes\, Alex Robertson\, and Re: Draft Creative. \nThe live production was produced by Fourth Wall Live\, ADAMA Entertainment\, Jason Haigh-Ellery\, and David Treatman Creative.

SUMMARY:Stillhouse Junkies
DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Presents: Stillhouse Junkies\nSeptember 6 @ 7:30PM | Donna M. Morris Theater at Field Hall \nSunset Bar & Lounge opens at 5PM\nTickets $28 Adult\, $15 Youth\, CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nStillhouse Junkies\, a charmed trio from the hills of Colorado\, have offered up a hypnotic and high-energy form of roots music anchored in the freeflowing interplay among the three lifelong musicians (Fred Kosak on guitar and mandolin\, Matt Thomas on upright bass\, Alissa Wolf on fiddle).  (Listen to Stillhouse Junkies on Spotify) \nWhile they’ve gained major traction in the bluegrass world in recent years—including winning the IBMA Momentum Band of the Year award in 2021— Stillhouse Junkies ultimately inhabit a genre-blurring and subtly inventive sound informed by everything from blues to classical to Texas swing. When matched with their nuanced songcraft and soul-stirring harmonies\, the result is a one-of-a-kind musical experience that immediately transports the listener into a more enchanted state of mind. \n \nABOUT THE ARTISTS (www.stillhousejunkies.com) \nFounded not long after Kosak moved to Durango from his native New England\, Stillhouse Junkies got their start playing a weekly residency at a local distillery and quickly drew a dedicated following on the strength of their unforgettable live show. Although all three members had established careers in other fields\, they soon devoted themselves full-time to the band and delivered their debut album in 2018\, then embarked on their first national tour the following year. \nAs they earned an evergrowing number of accolades\, Stillhouse Junkies built up a repertoire of original songs by tapping into their eclectic sensibilities. Their third full-length and first release for Dark Shadow Recording\, 2022’s Small Towns\, perfectly encapsulates what makes their music so spellbinding\, presenting a richly detailed selection of songs that often use the wildly colorful mythology of the American West to explore complex questions of the human heart. \nWith their fourth album due out in 2025\, Stillhouse Junkies have now achieved such triumphs as touring in the UK and Europe and taking the stage at leading festivals like MerleFest and Grey Fox. Whether they’re performing at house concerts or playing to crowds of thousands\, the band balances the dizzying intricacy of their musicality with plenty of freewheeling improvisation. And at the heart of their musical connection is an easy camaraderie made even more powerful by the intimacy of their lineup. \n“There’s a cool dynamic to the trio that we’ve really embraced over the years\,” Kosak points out. “We all believe that the triangle is the strongest shape.” “One of our favorite things we hear after shows is that we have such a big\, full sound for just three people\,” Wolf adds. “We always just try to bring a lot of joy to everything we do and give the audience something they can’t even describe. We want to leave them wondering\, ‘Wow\, what was that?’”

To this day\, he still does all three extensively.  \nAfter graduating from high school\, Kermet moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. Seattle became home. In early 1989\, Kermet did his first open mike night at the Comedy Underground in Seattle. Comedy was a fun hobby. In May of 1990\, he quit his job\, said good bye to health care and benefits\, and took the leap to performing full time. It is still his only job skill.  \nHe was the winner of the 2009 Great American Comedy Festival and has had numerous appearances on television and radio. David is a regular at Helium Comedy Club in Portland\, and hosts the Five Star Review podcast and the Hot Bits! Comedy showcase. You’re going to love what he brings to the table!  \n

SUMMARY:Comedy Night in the Sunset Lounge
DESCRIPTION:July 13 @ 8PM | Comedy Night in the Sunset Lounge\nSunset Lounge opens to ticket holders starting at 6PM\n$28 Standard\, $125 VIP Table (seats 4)\, CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nField Hall presents\, by popular request\, live comedy in the Sunset Lounge! Local comedian and emcee Sam Grello hosts a side-splitting evening featuring two standout Seattle standups: Quinn Fitzgerald and Timmy Booth! \nThe Sunset Bar & Lounge opens to ticket holders at 6PM and will be serving cocktails\, mocktails\, and our July picnic-themed menu. Tickets for this show are required for entry to the Sunset Lounge; this is a 21+ event. \nHOST: SAM GRELLO\nSam Grello is a stand-up comedian\, writer\, and conflict avoider currently based in Port Angeles\, Washington. Sam has been personally shamed and fired by some of America’s most legendary performers in comedy and film. “Get that little jerk OUT of here.” – Tom Cruise. \nOPENER: QUINN FITZGERALD (WATCH ON YOUTUBE)\nForgive Quinn Fitzgerald for being easily confused — the Seattle-based comedian finds himself in many uncomfortable situations. Luckily for his audiences\, these turn out hilarious. Quinn produces the weekly Tony V’s Garage comedy showcase. He’s an everyman who’s not too proud to admit that most of the time he — like most of us\, really — is just trying to figure out what the heck is going on. \nOPENER (NEW!): CAROLE FREEMAN (WATCH ON YOUTUBE)\nCarole Freeman is a comedian and podcast host originally from a small town in Oregon. She spent the first half of her life trying to be a perfect good girl and is now discovering how fun it is to make up for lost time. She channels the tragedy of her near-death experiences into her sarcastic\, self-deprecating delivery on stage. She’s performed in The World Series of Comedy\, was a semifinalist in The Funniest Comic in the Valley\, and voted as having the best high school graduation photo with a cat. \nHEADLINER: TIMMY BOOTH (WATCH ON YOUTUBE)\nTimmy Booth is one of two standup comedians ever born in Stokesdale\, NC. He now lives in Seattle where he brought home a Pacific-Northwest-best third place in the 2022 Seattle International Comedy Competition. He’s been featured on Cut\, The New Yorker\, and The CBC. This year\, he’ll be performing a full run with Just The Tonic at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

To see all participating galleries and locations\, visit https://www.portangelesartscouncil.org \nEvette Allerdings is currently featured in the Field Hall Gallery exhibit COLORS OF NATURE. For more information visit www.fieldhallevents.org/gallery \nABOUT THE ARTIST\nEvette Allerdings was taught to sew by her mother when she was eight. She began sewing her clothes as well as clothes for her various Barbie and Ken dolls. Every summer she and several of her friends that lived on the same block put on fashion shows for the neighborhood until she went to middle school. \nAt age 13 she saw a high school production of Don Quixote and dreamed of being a costumer. Too shy to get involved in the theater\, she often walked by the high school drama class peeking in the door but not having the courage to walk in. She graduated with a BS in Fashion Design from the University of Hawaii but chose to become a medical assistant for her lifetime career. In her mid-30’s she finally took a theater course at her local community college and later became a costumer at Windward Community College for 27 years. Winning multiple awards for best costumer\, the last being for Phantom of the Opera. \nAs a costumer\, Evette was often frustrated in her search for the perfect fabric and yearned to design her own. This led her to silk painting and she now uses silk painting to express herself. Yearning to sew again\, her next challenge will be incorporating her silk paintings into garments. \nEvette won First Price in the 2D division for last year’s Silk Painter’s International competition for her painting Solace. She has participated in recent exhibitions in Washington\, and you can see some of her continuing work in the Fiber Habit window in Port Townsend.

SUMMARY:First Fed Community Conversation: Documentary "Screenagers" in partnership with Port Angeles Healthy Youth Coalition
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, June 18th @ Field Hall: First Fed Community Conversation: Documentary “Screenagers” in partnership with Port Angeles Healthy Youth Coalition\nFREE EVENT – Please click here to RSVP \nField Arts & Events Hall is excited to host a screening of the documentary SCREENAGERS and post-show First Fed Community Conversation surrounding the effects of screen time on kids. This event is presented in partnership with Port Angeles Heathy Youth Coalition with support from the Washington State Health Care Association and Prevention Works! \nThe Field Hall lower Pat Donlin Lobby and upstairs Sunset Lounge will open at 4:30PM on Tuesday\, June 18th for a pre-show community showcase with our presenting partners. SCREENAGERS screening begins at 5:30PM in the Donna M. Morris Theater. Stay for a post-screening discussion in the theater. This event is free – please RSVP. \nAre you watching kids scroll through life\, with their rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that with her own kids and learned that the average kid spends 6.5 hours a day looking at screens. She wondered about the impact of all this time and about the friction occurring in homes and schools around negotiating screen time—friction she knew all too well. \nIn SCREENAGERS\, as with her award-winning documentaries on mental health\, Delaney takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life\, including her own\, to explore struggles over social media\, video games\, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant\, and unexpectedly funny stories\, along with surprising insights from authors\, psychologists\, and brain scientists\, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance. \n\n\n\n\n\nPhysician and filmmaker\, Delaney Ruston decided to make SCREENAGERS when she found herself constantly struggling with her two kids about screen time. Ruston felt guilty and confused\, not sure what limits were best\, especially around mobile phones\, social media\, gaming\, and how to monitor online homework. Hearing repeatedly how other parents were equally overwhelmed\, she realized this is one of the biggest\, unexplored parenting issues of our time. \nAs a director\, Ruston turned the camera on her own family and others—revealing stories of messy struggles over social media\, video games\, academics and internet addiction.  We meet Hannah\, a 14-year old victim of social media bullying who struggled trying to hide her social media use from her mom. And Andrew\, whose love of video games turned into an addiction taking him from earning straight A’s to flunking out of college. \nInterwoven into these stories\, are cutting edge science and insights from thought leaders Peggy Orenstein\, Sherry Turkle\, Simon Sinek\, as well as leading brain scientists who present evidence on the real changes in the brain when kids are on screens. SCREENAGERS goes far beyond exposing the risks of screen time\, it reveals multiple approaches on how parents and educators can work with kids to help them achieve a healthy amount of screen time. \nParents are encouraged to bring their kids to the movie. Learn more at www.screenagersmovie.com.
