They were a founding member of experimental jazz quartet Industrial Revelation\, Mellon Creative Research Fellow\, Creative Capital awardee\, Artist Trust Arts Innovators recipient\, a MAP Fund awardee\, a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Fund grantee\, an FCA Creative Research Fellow\, and a semi-finalist in NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity competition. Oluo co-produced two comedy albums by Hari Kondabolu and one by Dwayne Kennedy. Morris Theater for a special evening with friends! \nSAM GRISMAN ON HIS PROJECT:\nThe music that my father David Grisman and his close friend\, Jerry Garcia\, made in the early 90s (in the house that I grew up in) is not only some of the most timeless acoustic music ever recorded\, it also triggers my oldest and fondest musical memories. What I find most inspiring about this material is the way their camaraderie and their love and joy for the music\, simply oozes out of each recording. It is also impressive how deeply they get beneath their favorite songs—whether they are originals\, covers or traditional/old time tunes—and how expertly that material was curated. \nMy goal in starting Sam Grisman Project is to build a platform for my friends and me to showcase our genuine passion and appreciation for the legacy of Dawg and Jerry’s music. By playing some of their beloved repertoire and sharing the original music that our own collective has to offer\, we will also show the impact that this music has had on our own individual  musical voices. Morris Theater\nTickets $22 – $28  CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nJFFA and Field Hall are proud to present this partner event as part of our IN HARMONY series.  Allen Fitzpatrick wows in this one-hour solo adaptation. \nFor the 5th year in a row\, renowned stage actor Allen Fitzpatrick presents his solo adaptation of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” \n“I was completely absorbed for the entire hour\, and at the end\, very deeply moved.” \nAllen follows in the footsteps of its author who\, a few years after writing the novella\, began public readings of it which he continued to perform until the year of his death. \nThis story has been represented in over a hundred adaptations for stage\, film\, opera\, and radio. In Allen’s version\, audiences have the opportunity to use the full range of their imagination as one actor— on a virtually bare stage— creates 26 different characters. Audiences have been delighted by the personal\, individual impact which this approach affords. \nDickens’ novella captures the zeitgeist of the mid-Victorian revival of the Christmas holiday\, popularizing many aspects of Christmas celebration— including family gatherings\, seasonal food and drink\, dancing\, games\, and a festive generosity of spirit. And it shows the path by which selfish\, acquisitive men may redeem themselves.  Its most important theme\, however— all too relevant today— is to shine a glaring light on mistreatment of the poor. Dickens wrote his novella in response to British social attitudes towards poverty. He was compelled to show the repercussions of ignoring the poor— especially children— in poverty.

We go on assignment with her to the Mediterranean Sea to explore how pirating shaped the Roman Empire. We also meet the Pirate Queen of China and then head into the lab with Lisa to follow the most famous renegade\, Blackbeard. \nABOUT LISA BRIGGS \nLisa Briggs is an underwater archaeologist\, scuba instructor\, and technical diver. Her current research examines ancient shipwrecks of the Mediterranean Sea and how scientific methods can illuminate the stories of the cargoes these ships carried and the daring sailors who plied the seas of the past. She also has a particular interest in demonstrating how the intersection of science and adventure can inspire young students to pursue STEM subjects. \nOur mission is to make art accessible to everyone. Join storyteller Ingrid Nixon for an evening of dark tales\, bound to produce delightful shivers. This evening of storytelling in the Sunset Lounge will focus on spooky stories and is best suited for audiences 13+ \nDoors open at 5PM with storytelling starting at 7PM. Food and drink available for purchase through the Sunset Bar & Lounge throughout this event. \nThis event is presented with the Story People of Clallam County who work to to foster the ancient art of storytelling by providing opportunities to tell and listen to stories\, offer workshops\, produce public events\, and maintain a network for storytellers. \nABOUT INGRID NIXON\nThough these days she hails from Alaska\, Ingrid Nixon is a world-traveling storyteller who grew up in Port Angeles. She loves nothing better than to whisk listeners away on journeys of the imagination. Ghost stories\, exploration nail-biters\, tall tales\, traditional and personal stories—she tells them all on international expeditions\, and at venues around the country\, including the National Storytelling Festival. \nHer creative approaches to story crafting help make ancient tales relevant to modern audiences. All three of Ingrid’s recordings have received the Storytelling World Gold Seal for listeners of all ages: Her audio recording collection of ghost stories\, Lost Hearts and Other Creepy Stories\, is perfect for a dark and stormy night. Grimm’s with a Twist\, offers deliciously dark stories spiced liberally with humor and pathos. Operation Bouncy Chair\, features personal stories about the important things in life: family\, love\, and coffee. She is a champion liar many times over\, a claim that made her mother both proud and worried. She hosts a public radio program in Alaska called\, Story Borealis\, which is dedicated to the art of oral storytelling. She’s also a Seattle Moth Story SLAM winner. \nIngrid had a long\, fruitful career as a National Park Service ranger at Denali\, Glacier Bay and Mount Rainier national parks. She has received national kudos for the numerous films she has written\, hosted\, and/or narrated for Discovery Channel and the National Park Service. She has also worked as an award-winning print journalist. \nIngrid holds a Masters in Storytelling from East Tennessee State University.
