Hours: Monday-Saturday 10AM-2PM. \nGeneral Admission seating is first come\, first served\, and seating is very limited. \nStoryteller par excellence…transports audiences young and old into an amazing world of imagination.”  The Oregonian \nDuring this experiential workshop storyteller Will Hornyak will lead participants through exercises and activities to refine their skills in traditional\, oral form storytelling.  Will considers the essential tools of the storyteller’s craft and how to create and shape the stories we want to tell by honing our skills.  We will employ writing prompts\, break-out rooms for small group tellings\, and time for discussion and consideration of useful resources and activities for the future.  Although not necessary\, participants are welcome to bring a short tale or a portion of a longer story to work with.  This will be a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment open to all levels of storytelling experience. \n About the Instructor \nWill Hornyak is a nationally touring storyteller and workshop facilitator.  He has performed at storytelling festivals throughout the United States including the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesboro\, Tennessee.  A full-time\, professional storyteller since 1994\, Will weaves together a wide variety of oral traditions and personal stories into thoughtful\, engaging and well-crafted performances and workshops.  He has provided workshops for numerous corporate and non-profit organizations and has taught storytelling in professional communication at Portland State University\, Marylhurst Universtiy and Lewis and Clark College. Join storyteller Ingrid Nixon for an evening of dark tales\, bound to produce delightful shivers. This evening of storytelling in the Sunset Lounge will focus on spooky stories and is best suited for audiences 13+ \nDoors open at 5PM with storytelling starting at 7PM. Food and drink available for purchase through the Sunset Bar & Lounge throughout this event. \nThis event is presented with the Story People of Clallam County who work to to foster the ancient art of storytelling by providing opportunities to tell and listen to stories\, offer workshops\, produce public events\, and maintain a network for storytellers. \nABOUT INGRID NIXON\nThough these days she hails from Alaska\, Ingrid Nixon is a world-traveling storyteller who grew up in Port Angeles. She loves nothing better than to whisk listeners away on journeys of the imagination. Ghost stories\, exploration nail-biters\, tall tales\, traditional and personal stories—she tells them all on international expeditions\, and at venues around the country\, including the National Storytelling Festival. \nHer creative approaches to story crafting help make ancient tales relevant to modern audiences. All three of Ingrid’s recordings have received the Storytelling World Gold Seal for listeners of all ages: Her audio recording collection of ghost stories\, Lost Hearts and Other Creepy Stories\, is perfect for a dark and stormy night. Grimm’s with a Twist\, offers deliciously dark stories spiced liberally with humor and pathos. Operation Bouncy Chair\, features personal stories about the important things in life: family\, love\, and coffee. She is a champion liar many times over\, a claim that made her mother both proud and worried. She hosts a public radio program in Alaska called\, Story Borealis\, which is dedicated to the art of oral storytelling. She’s also a Seattle Moth Story SLAM winner. \nIngrid had a long\, fruitful career as a National Park Service ranger at Denali\, Glacier Bay and Mount Rainier national parks. She has received national kudos for the numerous films she has written\, hosted\, and/or narrated for Discovery Channel and the National Park Service. She has also worked as an award-winning print journalist. \nIngrid holds a Masters in Storytelling from East Tennessee State University.
