SUMMARY:Presented by Pigs on the Wing: Echoes of Pink Floyd Tour
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Pigs on the Wing\nEchoes of Pink Floyd Tour\nSaturday\, July 26th @ 8:00PM | Donna M. Morris Theater\nTickets $25 – $50 | CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nFrom its garage-rock roots in 2006 as a one-off club show\, to immersive multimedia productions in top venues throughout the West Coast\, Portland Oregon-based Pink Floyd tribute Pigs on the Wing has built a loyal following dedicated to the band’s high-energy take on Pink Floyd’s music. All members of Pigs on the Wing are seasoned veterans of the Pacific NW rock scene and are unapologetic in bringing their wide-ranging musical influences to the table. Setting the band aside from other tribute-rock acts\, Pigs on the Wing balance a decidedly un-tribute-like attitude towards the music with the precision and authenticity expected by Pink Floyd fans. \nPigs on the Wing has toured relentlessly throughout the Western US and in recent years featured full album performances of Dark Side of the Moon\, Wish You Were Here\, Animals\, and The Wall. None are bier fans of the work of Pink Floyd than the members of Pigs on the Wing themselves\, and the band takes their role as stewards of the music seriously – something immediately evident in the bands’ immersive performances. \nPigs on the Wing’s 2024-2025 tour\, “Echoes of Pink Floyd”\, is a second act to the band’s previous year’s tour. As before\, the Echoes of Pink Floyd tour will feature a new selection of the very best of classic-era Pink Floyd cuts organized into 2 distinct sets. Rather than performing a single album from start to end\, expect to hear the band focus on their favorite sections of the classic albums\, including hits\, deep cuts\, and the band’s trademark willingness to explore the sonic space in experimental improvisation. \nPigs on the Wing is: Matt Sulikowski (sax); Matt Jones (keys / vocals); Bryan Fairfield (drums); Jason Baker (guitar / vocals); Dave Lindenbaum (guitar / vocals); Holly Brooks (vocals); Eric Welder (bass / vocals) \nOfficial Website | Facebook Page | YouTube Channel \n

The groups support the Army’s mission by boosting morale\, fostering community engagement\, and representing the Washington National Guard with pride. Their upbeat performances connect audiences to the rich history of American music while honoring military tradition. \nThe General’s 7\nThe General’s 7 is a traditional jazz ensemble that specializes in New Orleans-style\, turn-of-the-century jazz. Drawing inspiration from early 20th-century jazz pioneers\, the band captures the essence of the original jazz era\, characterized by its lively rhythms\, collective improvisation\, and rich brass instrumentation. Their performances evoke the spirit of classic New Orleans jazz\, offering audiences a nostalgic journey to the roots of American music. \nBrassquatch\nBrassquatch is a dynamic brass band that infuses traditional brass band music with elements of funk\, pop\, and soul. SUMMARY:An Evening with Cowboy Junkies: Celebrating 40 Years
DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Presents: An Evening with Cowboy Junkies – Celebrating 40 Years\nJune 26 @ 7PM | Donna M. Morris Theater\nField Hall opens at 5:00PM\nTickets $50-$80 CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nCowboy Junkies will be performing a career-spanning show from The Trinity Session to their recent album\, Such Ferocious Beauty! \n \nABOUT COWBOY JUNKIES\nSometimes revolutions begin quietly. \nIn 1988\, Cowboy Junkies proved that there was an audience waiting for something quiet\, beautiful and reflective. The Trinity Session was like a whisper that cut through the noise — and it was compelling. It stood out in the midst of the flash and bombast that came to define the late 80’s. The now classic recording combined folk\, blues and rock in a way that had never been heard before and went on to sell more than a million copies. \nFormed in Toronto in 1985 with siblings Michael Timmins on guitar\, Margo Timmins on vocals\, Peter Timmins on drums\, and Michael’s lifelong friend Alan Anton on bass\, the band has sparkled over the course of 29 albums. “I’ve known Alan longer than I’ve known Pete\,” says Michael. “We were friends before Pete was born.” \nUnlike most long-lasting groups\, Cowboy Junkies have never had a break up or taken a sanity-saving hiatus. There’s an appreciation of each other that keeps them constantly working. “It’s that intimacy and understanding of what each one of us brings to the table\,” says Michael. Cowboy Junkies’ will be performing a career-spanning show\, including their new album\, ‘Such Ferocious Beauty’\, which was released worldwide on June 2\, 2023 to universal critical acclaim.

From Australia to Disney World to the National Cathedral in D.C\, he splattered the world with his beautiful and soulful voice.  These days\, he sings on his farm\, in his barn\, on the river\, with friends around campfires\, and habitually hosts gatherings with many of the most talented and unique people on this planet.  His infectious spirit and genuine interest in lifting up those around him make him a person to know fondly. \nJesse Ahmann:  cellist/random 13th century human:   As a classically trained cellist\, and having been surrounded by music all his life\, Jesse has always dreamt of being a composer. He has since learned multiple instruments and frequently uses them in his compositions\, realizing that dream\, working as a film composer\, meditative music writer\, and successful YouTube musician. He loves to convey emotion\, both in the undercurrents of his music and the melodies. He has performed as principal cellist for numerous symphonies across the Northwest\, and also performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center; additionally\, he was a featured artist on National Public Radio’s (NPR’s) “All Things Considered.” His musical credits include performances throughout Europe\, Asia\, Central\, and South America.   Locally\, he performs with musical groups such as ‘The Ahmann Brothers’ and ‘Topia Vana’.   Jesse has also started playing standup bass with Bread & Gravy\, and he’s already nearly as accomplished with it\, as he is with the cello.  He has played in exotic places\, such as Quilcene and Chimacum\, in front of tens\, if not dozens\, of people. \nIsabelle Rose:  keyboards/space person:  From a galaxy far far away in Los Angeles California. Isabelle Rose started her musical journey with keyboards in the year 1977.  She was 4 years old the first time she went to see Star wars! She is a classically trained vocalist and attended Berkley College of Music in Boston\, MA and Western Washington University in Bellingham\, WA as a music major. She plays several different instruments\, has her own band (Olympic Generations)\, and they have been together for over 15 years. Her musical influences are mostly classic country artists such as Glen Cambell\, The Judds\, and The Sons of the Pioneers. She also enjoys some of the tight harmonies from Motown and blue grass. While in high school and college\, she has participated in musical theater and in multiple community choruses\, singing different parts depending on the need: soprano\, alto and/or tenor. She loves listening to a wide variety of music from classical to contemporary worship and pop music.  She loves performing and collaborating with other artists from our musical community.  Her favorite color is All of Them. \nKathy Corriel:  Harmony/Random Human:   Kathy is recently retired and a late bloomer in the local music scene\, although she’s been singing harmony since before she knew what it was.  She grew up in a very musical family and would often sing along with songs from the 40s to the 70s (the ‘Wonder Years’ of music).   She has been a soprano in several worship bands from the age of 17\, and also performed with Port Angeles Community Chorus in a production of ‘Handel’s Messiah’ and other classic operatic pieces.  Currently\, she feels blessed to be part of the Bread & Gravy family and the thriving local music community.   She loves Art\, Music\, Cats\, and PBJ sandwiches with cold milk.

Morris Theater\nTickets $40-$95 | CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nConversations & Music with Danny Barnes\, Tracy and Sam Grisman on Dawg’s 80th Birthday \nJoin us for a very special event celebrating the legendary mandolinist/composer David “Dawg” Grisman on his 80 birthday! This unique afternoon will feature David in conversation with his friend and colleague Danny Barnes\, sharing stories\, anecdotes about his illustrious career and the incredible musicians he’s played with over the years. Throughout the dialogue Dawg will play some of his tunes with his wife Tracy\, his son Sam and Danny. \nThis is a rare opportunity to experience Dawg music and celebrate the life and legacy of one of the most influential figures in acoustic music.\nDon’t miss this unforgettable event! \nCover art: Tracy Grisman. See this portrait on display at the Laura Cooksey Gallery at Field Hall January 30 – April 6 as part of LIFE FORCE. \nABOUT THE ARTIST\nDavid Grisman emerged as a mandolin visionary from New York City’s Greenwich Village folk scene in the early 1960s. He first played with local bluegrass bands and then professionally with the Even Dozen Jug Band\, Red Allen and the Kentuckians and Earth Opera. He became a record producer and session player on recordings with Tom Paxton\, Judy Collins\, James Taylor\, Linda Ronstadt\, Dolly Parton and many others. In 1969\, Jerry Garcia invited David to play on the Grateful Dead’s classic\, American Beauty. Garcia famously dubbed him “Dawg” and their musical friendship led to the formation of the legendary bluegrass band\, Old & In The Way. \nDawg unleashed an acoustic musical revolution with his 1977 release — The David Grisman Quintet\, featuring David’s original compositions and forging a ground-breaking style rooted in high-energy bluegrass\, interlaced with elements of jazz and world music. The Quintet (and Quartet\, Sextet and Dawg Trio) showcased dawg music for four decades with its renowned members — Tony Rice\, Darol Anger\, Todd Phillips\, Mike Marshall\, Mark O’Connor\, Joe Craven\, Enrique Coria\, Matt Eakle\, Jim Kerwin\, John Carlini\, George Marsh\, Frank Vignola\, Chad Manning\, George Cole\, Sam Grisman\, Danny Barnes and others. David also maintained a formidable traditional bluegrass presence with the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience. \nIn 1990 David founded Acoustic Disc\, producing over 100 projects featuring collaborations with Jerry Garcia\, Del McCoury\, Tony Rice\, Doc Watson\, Stephane Grappelli\, John Hartford\, Mike Seeger\, Andy Statman\, Vassar Clements\, Martin Taylor\, John Sebastian\, Tommy Emmanuel and others\, as well as historically important recordings by Dave Apollon\, Jacob Do Bandolim\, Oscar Aleman\, Svend Asmussen and Bill Monroe. \nDavid Grisman is known worldwide for his melodious mandolin style\, compositional ingenuity and the inspired performances of the groups he’s led. Today Dawg spends most of his time producing digital projects for Acoustic Disc and Acoustic Oasis\, which he runs with his wife Tracy. He still writes tunes and practices the mandolin\, but rarely concertizes\, making this appearance all the more special!
