DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Gallery Exhibit Opening: LIFE FORCE\nJanuary 30 @ 5PM – 7PM\nFREE ADMISSION \nLocal artists Carolyn Heryford Watts and Tracy Grisman’s paintings are showcased side by side in LIFE FORCE. \nA posthumous show of Carolyn’s organic\, meticulous design of shapes of color inspired by her years spent nature-walking on the beach and looking under the microscope while running the phlebotomy lab at Providence Hospital in Seattle. Her work is presented alongside Tracy’s expressive depictions of musicians from years of connecting through music and caring for others as a registered nurse. LIFE FORCE is the alchemy when two artists meet and share their stories and work: depictions of life in it’s organic forms – micro to macro\, cellular to human. \nOn January 30th\, join us for the opening celebration featuring live music with The Hot Club of Port Townsend. The jazz manouche trio includes Tracy Grisman (bass)\, Bobbi Nikles (violin)\, and Jessica Logan (guitar). Enjoy a casual French Bistro atmosphere and remarks with the artists and gallery curator. This event is free and open to the public. \nGallery hours are 10AM – 2PM Monday through Saturday. Admission is free\, donations appreciated. Private tours are available by request – email gallery@fieldhallevents.org to arrange a tour. \nLIFE FORCE will remain on display at the Field Hall Gallery through April 6th.

Grab a soup\, sandwich\, or salad from the cafe and unwind with free tunes during your lunch hour.\n\nMichael Rivers and jazz legend Craig Buhler are bringing their dynamic blend of folk gospel and jazz to Field Hall. Don’t miss this lively lunchtime concert\, perfect for grabbing a bite and enjoying great music.\n\n\nMichael Rivers Singer\, Songwriter \nMost recognized as the director of the Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers (PMGS)\, a group he has directed for over 20 years\, Michael has also coached vocal students and toured performing original Folk Gospel. \nHe has recorded 3 CDs of his music and songs from those recordings have been played on Seattle folk stations and i heart radio. \nFor the last few years Michael has been collaborating with Craig Buhler\, a local legend in the Jazz scene. \nCraig Buhler\, Singer\, Composer\, Musician \nA member of the Olympic Peninsula arts community for over two decades\, Craig Buhler is active as a composer\, recording artist\, jazz saxophonist\, vocalist\, producer\, educator\, and advocate. \nHe is a member of the California rock group “Honk\,” which recorded and toured alongside “The Beach Boys\,” “Loggins & Messina\,” and other top artists.  “Honk” continues to sell out several Orange County venues. \nCraig’s nine CDs and three books circulate worldwide\, and his improvisation workshop is attended by many fine local musicians. \nSince 2017\, Craig has sung and played clarinet with Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers.  He worked with the Stardust Big Band for 15 years\, including eight years as director \nMichael plays keys and sings. Craig plays sax and clarinet and narrates decades worth of pop music history and trivia. Audiences of all ages have been delighted by the playful energy these two musicians create! \nCome see these two dynamic musicians perform\, free of charge\, Thursday October 3 at the Field Arts & Events Hall in Port Angeles.

Casey is a talented musician known for her captivating voice and guitar skills.\n\nOriginally hailing from Wisconsin\, Casey discovered Port Angeles while on assignment here serving as a helicopter pilot for the Coast Guard. She will be separating from military service this summer\, but the good news is that she loves it here so much she plans to make the Pacific Northwest her permanent home.\n\nAs a singer/songwriter\, Casey creates new and refreshing sounds by combining folk\, country\, Americana and pop music and can often be found entertaining audiences at our local establishments. Says Casey\, “the breathtaking surroundings and vibrant local music community serve as a constant inspiration for me”.\n\nSo come see and hear Casey on Thursday\, September 19th between 11 am and 1 pm at the Field Hall. She will set up downstairs across from the Cafe. Stop in\, grab lunch or just coffee from the Cafe then kick back and listen as Casey performs.\n\nThere is no charge to see Casey as this is part of Field Hall’s ongoing mission to introduce the public to our talented local  music community.

Click here to reserve your spot for this event. \nThe North Olympic Watercolorists (NOW) and Field Hall Gallery have partnered to present an immersive journey through the world of watercolor art. “Watercolor: From Studio to Gallery\,” opens on Tuesday\, August 13th showcasing a vibrant display of unique styles\, techniques\, and subjects and inviting visitors to take a glimpse behind the brushstrokes through studio vignettes. The exhibit will run through October 26th.\n\nThe free opening reception will take place August 13th from 5PM – 8PM in the Pat Donlin Lobby. Several of the local artists featured in the exhibit will be onsite to discuss their work and offer insight into the watercolor process. Refreshments will be available for purchase; no RSVP is required.\n\nThe exhibit features pieces by NOW members Kristi Kaiser\, Mary Hughes\, Shirley Rudolf\, Marilyn Hiestand\, Janet Flatley\, Melissa Doyel\, Katie Carlson\, Annette Clem\, Karen Lavender Peterson\, Dee Margeson\, Lyn Conlan\, Beverly Beighle\, Suzanne Rescigna\, Georgianna Seko\, Kristin Warner\, Barb Diekfuss\, Shing Ledgerwood\, Connie Drysdale\, Shannon Goose\, and Betsy Robins. Click here to reserve your spot for this event. \nTextile art and the many different ways it is created will be described by three Olympic Peninsula artists at the opening reception for the new Field Arts & Events Hall Gallery exhibit\, “Colors of Nature.” The reception and artists introduction will take place in Field Hall’s Pat Donlin lobby on Tuesday\, May 28 at 5PM. A complimentary flavored water station will be provided; additional food and drink available for purchase through the Beth & Cappy Rothman Bar. \nSequim art quilter Kathie Cook\, 3D fiber and bead artist Pat Herkal\, and mixed-media fiber artist Debra E. Olson (both of Port Townsend) will describe their work and answer audience questions. The artists will also introduce the art quilts\, mixed-media collages\, jewelry\, wearable art\, textile sculptures\, and the hand-woven and hand-felted pieces that are among the 70-plus pieces being displayed by 28 Olympic and Kitsap peninsula artists in “Colors of Nature” on display through Aug. 3. \nCreated by Peninsula Fiber Artists members with flax\, cotton\, wool\, silk\, beads and paper using eco-printing\, custom fabric designs\, hand-dyed fabric and embroidery\, “Colors of Nature” will be open 10AM – 2PM Thursdays\, Fridays\, Saturdays and for two hours prior to most performances.
