Dance on the dance floor\, choose from themed specialty cocktails and mocktails\, and grab a bite from our Sunset Lounge menu! \nStop Making Sense brings to the screen Talking Heads at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater in December 1983: David Byrne\, Tina Weymouth\, Chris Frantz\, and Jerry Harrison\, alongside backing singers Lynn Mabry and Ednah Holt\, guitarist Alex Weir\, keyboardist Bernie Worrell and percussionist Steve Scales. Regarded as the best concert film of all time\, renowned filmmaker Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs) captures the band at their exhilarating best\, in this new and complete restoration for the film’s 40th anniversary. \n \nStop Making Sense was shot while Talking Heads were on tour promoting their 1983 album\, Speaking in Tongues. It also includes songs from the solo career of frontman David Byrne and by Tom Tom Club\, the side project of drummer Chris Frantz and bassist Tina Weymouth. \nIn 2021\, Stop Making Sense was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally\, historically\, or aesthetically significant.”  A special 4K restoration of the film was re-released in theaters in September 2023 by A24; this event will show the restored version. \nField Arts & Events Hall does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. This event is 21+   \n   \nHeadliner: Kermet Apio (Watch on YouTube)\nBorn and raised in Honolulu\, Hawaii\, Kermet Apio enjoyed a childhood in paradise. He spent his time watching television\, playing\, and procrastinating everything else. To this day\, he still does all three extensively.  \nAfter graduating from high school\, Kermet moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. Seattle became home. In early 1989\, Kermet did his first open mike night at the Comedy Underground in Seattle. Comedy was a fun hobby. In May of 1990\, he quit his job\, said good bye to health care and benefits\, and took the leap to performing full time. It is still his only job skill.  \nHe was the winner of the 2009 Great American Comedy Festival and has had numerous appearances on television and radio. He has showcased at comedy festivals in Aspen\, Las Vegas\, and Vancouver and has performed in 47 states and 3 Canadian provinces. A native of both Southern Oregon and Southern Ohio\, he is well versed in making light of the unexciting. His style has been described as “chill\, yet spicy\, like a leftover chicken wing.” – but the reality is that his dry\, introspective sense of humor has been charming audiences for years. David is a regular at Helium Comedy Club in Portland\, and hosts the Five Star Review podcast and the Hot Bits! Comedy showcase. You’re going to love what he brings to the table!  \n

SUMMARY:Sway Wild
DESCRIPTION:JULY 25 @ 7PM | SWAY WILD\nSunset Bar & Lounge at Field Arts & Events Hall\nSunset Lounge opens 5PM\, Concert begins 7PM\nGeneral Admission $27\, CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS \nJoin us for a summertime concert in the waterfront Sunset Bar & Lounge at Field Hall! San Juan Island\, WA-based indie folk-rock duo Mandy Fer and Dave McGraw are back at it with a new sound\, and a new name: Sway Wild! It can squeeze the heart in your chest\, it can draw tears from your eyes\, and it can force you to get up and move your body; over and over\, it somehow manages to do all three at once. Mandy Fer also tours as the lead guitarist for Amos Lee and Allison Russell and has recently performed with Brandi Carlile. \n \nListen on Spotify \nThe Sunset Bar & Lounge opens at 5PM and will remain open and serving food and drinks through 9PM. Enjoy our July menu with summery picnic-themed appetizers and entrees and a selection of seasonal cocktails and mocktails. Local comedian and emcee Sam Grello hosts a side-splitting evening featuring two standout Seattle standups: Quinn Fitzgerald and Timmy Booth! \nThe Sunset Bar & Lounge opens to ticket holders at 6PM and will be serving cocktails\, mocktails\, and our July picnic-themed menu. Tickets for this show are required for entry to the Sunset Lounge; this is a 21+ event. \nHOST: SAM GRELLO\nSam Grello is a stand-up comedian\, writer\, and conflict avoider currently based in Port Angeles\, Washington. Sam has been personally shamed and fired by some of America’s most legendary performers in comedy and film. “Get that little jerk OUT of here.” – Tom Cruise. \nOPENER: QUINN FITZGERALD (WATCH ON YOUTUBE)\nForgive Quinn Fitzgerald for being easily confused — the Seattle-based comedian finds himself in many uncomfortable situations. Luckily for his audiences\, these turn out hilarious. Quinn produces the weekly Tony V’s Garage comedy showcase. She spent the first half of her life trying to be a perfect good girl and is now discovering how fun it is to make up for lost time. She channels the tragedy of her near-death experiences into her sarcastic\, self-deprecating delivery on stage. She’s performed in The World Series of Comedy\, was a semifinalist in The Funniest Comic in the Valley\, and voted as having the best high school graduation photo with a cat. \nHEADLINER: TIMMY BOOTH (WATCH ON YOUTUBE)\nTimmy Booth is one of two standup comedians ever born in Stokesdale\, NC. He now lives in Seattle where he brought home a Pacific-Northwest-best third place in the 2022 Seattle International Comedy Competition. He’s been featured on Cut\, The New Yorker\, and The CBC. This year\, he’ll be performing a full run with Just The Tonic at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
