SUMMARY:Open Mic Mondays hosted by Bread & Gravy Duo
DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Presents: Open Mic Mondays Hosted by Bread & Gravy\nMonday\, April 6th | Doors 5PM\, Signup 6PM\n*VIP Tables $40 | General Admission Free\, Donations Appreciated \nGeneral admission seating is first-come\, first-served. This is a Sunset Lounge event with bar service throughout the evening. \nField Arts & Events Hall welcomes you to share your talent on our Sunset Lounge stage! Join us for Open Mic Mondays in the Sunset Lounge\, hosted by Bread & Gravy Duo. Signup for open mic begins at 6PM; open mic starts at 6:15PM. This is a free\, all-ages event – no RSVP or ticket required. \n*VIP tables are for our very inspired patrons who choose to donate $40 to reserve seating at a premium table for up to four guests. Donations like these\, cash donations at Field Hall\, and purchases of food and drinks through the bar support this ongoing free series at Field Hall. We thank you for all levels of support – including thunderous applause for our local artists! \n\n\n\n\n\nABOUT BREAD & GRAVY\nBread & Gravy Duo is a popular husband and wife act (Stephanie and Jess Doenges) who perform songs across many styles and genres. They feature powerful female vocals\, eclectic piano\, rhythm guitar\, and the occasional flute and harmonica. They have hosted or cohosted many Open Mics on the peninsula\, including ‘Open Mic at the Buzz’\, ‘The Junction Open Jam’\, ‘The Rainshadow Open Mic’\, and most recently at ‘Open Mic at the Sit-N-Bull’. They often play as a bigger band\, adding steady stalwarts such as Jerry Gilleland (drums) and Jason Taylor (bass and harmonies) and have also collaborated with dozens of other local musicians\, so one never knows who will come sit in with them on a given night. Follow @breadandgravymusic for more. \nSTEPHANIE DOENGES (SOUND)\nStephanie is one of the most established and recognized musicians on the peninsula. She has been playing music since a young age\, and has been in local bands such as Restless\, Luck of the Draw\, Rolling Waters\, and the Cornstalks. For the past twelve years\, she has been the face and voice of Bread and Gravy in all of its formations. While her voice is a main draw\, and guitar is her most common instrument\, she often surprises and astounds with riveting flute and harmonica solos.\nStephanie has run sound for Open Mics for many years now\, and she’s grown very adept at dialing people in quickly\, as well as tailoring the sound to any nuance the performer displays. \nJESS DOENGES (MC)\nJess is the quintessential late bloomer\, who didn’t touch a musical instrument until age 29. Bread & Gravy is the first and only band he’s ever been in. In juxtaposition to the versatile Stephanie\, he’s a one trick pony on the piano. But his love for piano\, and his love for Stephanie shows through in his playing\, and he has truly played himself into one of the top accompanists around. As an MC\, he has tons of experience herding cats (err.. musicians) to make the Open Mic experience enjoyable and fair for all involved. His quick wit and inviting vibe tend to make the audience comfortable and relaxed\, which is what is needed to have a supportive environment for all performers.

SUMMARY:TAE & The Neighborly
DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Presents: TAE & The Neighborly\nWednesday\, September 24 @ 7PM | Sunset Lounge Dance Party\n*Tickets $20\, General Admission | Financial assistance available – click here to apply\n*Our ticketing platform Ludus charges a 5% service fee for all credit card transactions. To avoid this fee\, visit our Box Office at 201 W. Front Street and pay via cash or check. Hours: Monday-Saturday 10AM-2PM. \nCelebrate the start of fall with one final summer-style dance party and happy hour in the Sunset Lounge! This general admission event will offer a dance floor with plenty of room to boogie\, and Happy Hour specials from 5PM – 6:30PM before the music starts. \nTAE & The Neighborly\, a Wisconsin based Soul-pop R&B group\, found themselves playing music together in a very unconventional way. \nThey were all neighbors\, each one living alone on one floor of a five-story flat. Cake baking is a shared passion of the five member group\, but in the sugar shortages early in the 2020 pandemic\, they found themselves so continually knocking on each other’s doors asking for a single cup of sugar that a group decision was made to all move in together and share cake-baking resources. And since everyone knows all good rhythms begin in the kitchen\, it wasn’t before long that the group began to write and perform together  across the nation. \nCritics hail the group as “having more kick than a bagged-up mule” (Rotary Times)  and their live show “…going down smoother than a can of [beans] warmed on the campfire” (Cowboy Gazette). All in all\, if you are looking for a dense show that will give you more inspiration fuel for self lovin’\, world changin’\, and consideration havin’ meet them where the music is made to be shared. \nOur mission is to make art accessible to everyone. Financial assistance is available for this event through our #fieldhallforall program. Patrons can request a discount of up to 100%. Click here to apply for financial assistance.

SUMMARY:Lucky & The Locals
DESCRIPTION:Field Hall Presents: Lucky & The Locals\nFriday\, August 22nd | Doors 5PM\, Performance 7:30PM | Happy Hour Specials from 5PM-6:30PM\nVIP Tables $40 | General Admission Free\, Donations Appreciated \nGeneral admission seating is first-come\, first-served. This is a Sunset Lounge event with dance floor and bar service throughout the evening.  \nJoin Lucky & The Locals for a summer dance party in the Sunset Lounge at Field Hall! Doors open at 5PM\, music begins at 7PM. Reserved VIP tables are available for $40 – all other seating is first-come\, first-served and by donation. Happy hour menu and specials available 5PM – 6:30PM. \n“The Locals” is a stripped down version of Joel Ricci’s wildly popular “Funkways” ensemble featuring West Seattle All Stars Olli Klomp (Oscillators) on drums and Jason Gray (Polyrhythmics) on electric bass. The twist is Jason Cressey (Monophonics) takes up the Guitar and Lucky himself plays electric piano. Think Meters meets Hailu Mergia at a backyard barbecue. \nAmerican music artist\, Joel Ricci (fka Lucky Brown)\, writes and records in his tiny forest cabin in the foothills of the North Olympic Mountains on the Olympic peninsula of Washington State. As a songwriter\, composer\, arranger\, recording artist\, and professional session and touring trumpet player he has worked as both leader and sideman in many groups for over 20 years. \nJoel has traveled with nationally touring acts such as Portland’s MarchFourth Marching Band\, Orgone from Los Angeles\, and Moksha from Las Vegas. Recently\, an original song of his\, in collaboration with Seattle’s Polyrhythmics\, has been licensed for use in a major Jordan Peele motion picture directed by and starring Dev Patel. \nHe graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music composition from Eastern Washington University in 1999 and has performed in the Peninsula College Jazz band while studying composition and arranging under the tutelage of Dr. David P. Jones. \nAmong his dynamic studio experiments and performance situations\, his former stage/production persona\, ‘Lucky Brown’\, is probably the most widely-recognized via his relationship with German boutique funk and jazz record label\, Tramp Records\, for whom Joel has written\, arranged\, recorded\, produced and licensed more than two-dozen vinyl 45RPM singles as well as six full-length albums and EPs. This relationship has led to Ricci being hailed by music mavens worldwide as a “deep funk pioneer.” \nIn addition to his prolific output of original jazz\, funk\, blues\, and soul compositions\, Joel’s trumpet has appeared on hundreds of independent recordings. One special feature of Joel’s original music is that it comes directly from the heart\, and carries with it the gravity of spiritual and cultural consequence. This sentiment is echoed by the handful of Pacific Northwest rhythmic groups who cover his original tunes as nightly staples in their live show.
