November 22 | Peninsula College Presents: The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa Fasthorse
TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR: $20 GENERAL ADMISSION
The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa Fasthorse, the first Native American woman playwright to have her work on Broadway, is coming just in time for the holidays! November 15, 16, and 23rd at 7pm at Peninsula College and for-one-night-only at Field Arts & Events Hall on November 22nd. Tickets are available at the door at both locations: $20 for general admission and free to PC students on the PC campus.
Directed by Dr. Lara Starcevich with set/costume design by Marissa Meek, The Thanksgiving Play is NOT your usual children’s holiday play. It’s a quick-witted satire of well-meaning but exhaustingly ‘woke’ teachers who attempt to create a politically correct elementary school play about the first Thanksgiving while struggling with their own biases and the lack of Native representation.
Larissa FastHorse is a Native American playwright and choreographer and, in 2023, she became the first known female Native American playwright produced on Broadway with The Thanksgiving Play at Second Stage’s Hayes Theater.
