STAFF FAVORITES: JESS' IDEAL MORNING IN PORT ANGELES

“My morning usually starts with a drive out to Ediz Hook. It’s the best view of Port Angeles and I am almost always treated to some kind of nature watching: bald and golden eagles, seals, sea lions and river otters are usually out there, along with the famous Ediz Hook cats. If it was a perfect morning, I’d also have a breakfast sandwich from Lola’s Café and a caramel pistachio-milk latte with white espresso from Lincoln Street Coffee Pot. When I lived on the East coast I was black coffee queen, but living out here will teach you to slow down and savor.

For such a small community, there’s almost always something happening. I’m a regular at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center (that’s me and my husband rocking our flower crowns at the Summertide Solstice Arts Festival) Studio Bob, and of course – the Sunset Bar & Lounge at Field Hall, especially when there’s live local music. I’m also a fan of dive bars and Port Angeles has some of the best! The Gateway is my favorite late-night spot, it’s such an experience.”
