Benjamin has been playing music since the age of 5. Classically trained, internationally raised, and folk and roots studied, Benjamin’s music explores sounds old and new from a wide spectrum of human experience and place. For almost two decades, Benjamin has played in the internationally acclaimed roots duo, Ben Hunter & Joe Seamons. In 2016, they took 1st place in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. As a soloist and composer, Benjamin has written music for various interdisciplinary projects, including, dance choreographies, film scores, and theatre. Benjamin’s music aims to connect all of his experiences in one musical language, scanning the margins and the nucleus alike, searching for the stories and intersections where everything converges.
