Brubeck Brothers Quartet Announced as first Field Hall performance

Field Arts & Events Hall, the new state-of-the-art performing arts and events center on the Port Angeles waterfront, has announced the first public performance inside the venue. Legendary jazz musicians the Brubeck Brothers Quartet will grace the stage July 6th. Click here for tickets!

Chris and Dan Brubeck began performing with their father, jazz giant Dave Brubeck, and cut their first record together in 1966. They have subsequently played a variety of styles with several groups, including their own Brubeck Brothers Quartet, featuring guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb. The Quartet’s last CD, LifeTimes was a hit on the Jazz Week radio chart where it made the Top Ten list as one of the most played jazz recordings of the year.

The July 6th performance will mark the first public performance at Field Hall inside the new Donna M. Morris Theater, named after the arts patron whose initial donation set the Field Arts & Events Hall project in motion. Designed by industry leaders LMN Architects, Jaffe Holden, and The Shalleck Collaborative, the theater has been constructed to provide a world-class acoustic experience.

“Music lovers of all types will not want to miss this event,” said Steve Raider-Ginsburg, Executive Director of Field Hall. “Chris and Dan are truly masters of their craft, and this is an opportunity to hear them at their best. We are lucky to now have a facility like Field Hall on the Olympic Peninsula and to be able to host world-class musicians.”

The Brubeck Brothers Quartet are kicking off a series of pre-opening events this July which will culminate with the Grand Opening Celebration July 29-30th. Also on the schedule is an exclusive event for donors featuring Carnegie Hall pianist Katya Grineva, and a free “Community Days” celebration July 22-23, one weekend prior to Grand Opening and the opening of the Field Hall Gallery on July 27th.

“Community Days is a celebration that will highlight many of the talented artists in our community and give them the opportunity to perform on the Field Hall stage,” explained Kayla Oakes, Director of Education and Artistic Engagement. “Each day will feature eight hours of free entertainment, which is just a great opportunity for locals to check out what we’re all about and get a sense of what it might be like to see a show inside the space.”

Headliner acts for the Grand Opening Celebration are expected to be announced in early May, and audiences can expect more information about the acts scheduled for the 2023-2024 season by late June.
