Carnegie Hall favorite Katya Grineva performs Field Hall “Love & Water” Benefit Concert

On July 16th, acclaimed pianist Katya Grineva generously donated her time and efforts to support the first benefit concert at Field Hall, marking a momentous occasion for Port Angeles classical music enthusiasts. Performing in the new Donna M. Morris Theater, Ms. Grineva’s benefit concert was not only a celebration of classical music but also a heartfelt gesture of support for Field Hall’s ongoing Capital Campaign.

Guests gathered in the lower Pat Donlin Lobby and enjoyed cocktails in the upstairs Sunset Bar & Lounge prior to the start of the performance. Many attendees were visiting Field Hall for the very first time.

Titled “Love & Water,” the program was a testament to the romantic allure of classical music and the breathtaking beauty of the Olympic Peninsula. The performance raised over $20,000, highlighting the profound impact of music in fostering community support.

The selection of romantic classics echoed the serenity of Field Hall’s waterfront location and paid homage to the stunning landscapes of the Olympic Peninsula. From Claude Debussy’s ethereal “Clair de Lune” to Frédéric Chopin’s evocative “Fantasie-Impromptu,” each piece was meticulously chosen by Ms. Grineva for this event.

Katya Grineva’s musical prowess and poetic style have captivated audiences worldwide, earning her the distinction of performing more solo concerts at Carnegie Hall than any other female pianist in history. Born in Moscow, Ms. Grineva’s musical journey began at the age of five, under the tutelage of renowned Professor Pavel Messnar at the Moscow Conservatory. Through her performances, Katya seeks to evoke a profound emotional connection with her audience.

A core part of the program was celebrating and acknowledging the invaluable contributions of Founders Circle Patrons and Donors, including the esteemed Dorothy Field, for whom the building is named. Katya’s performance was a heartfelt tribute to those who have dedicated themselves to the enrichment of Port Angeles’ cultural landscape.

Following the concert, guests were treated to a champagne toast in the new waterfront conference center, offering panoramic views of the majestic Strait of Juan de Fuca. Attendees enjoyed a stunning grazing table provided by Sea to Summit Charcuterie as well as sparkling wine provided by Grocery Outlet. Flowers and decor provided by Farm & Flower provided a welcoming pop of summer colors.
