The L DOWDELL TRIO, three musicians from the East Coast whose stars aligned out here on the Peninsula, play an eclectic mix of original arrangements of jazz standards paired with music from classical and pop genres. “An unflagging, unflinching, buoyant sense of rhythm …” The Boston Globe.

LINDA DOWDELL (PIANIST/ARRANGER) toured the world from 1988-98 as musical director of Mikhail Baryshnikov’s White Oak Dance Project and the Mark Morris Dance Group. Pre-pandemic, her band Friends of Brubeck performed locally and at the Royal Room in Seattle. Her choral compositions have received premieres by distinguished ensembles including Schola Cantorum of Edinburgh and the Gregg Smith Singers; NorthWest Women’s Chorale premiered her “she shantey” SAIL LIKE A GIRL last year here in Port Angeles, where she appears regularly with the Port Angeles Symphony. A member of the prestigious BMI Musical Theatre Workshop in New York, she earned the Harrington Award for Creative Achievement, and has received grants from Meet the Composer, ArtsWA, and the James Irvine Foundation. Upcoming projects include the October ’24 world premiere of her new musical THE WILD WYNOOCHEE at Key City Public Theatre in Port Townsend, where she is resident Musical Director.

VINNY ONEPPO (WOODWINDS) is a versatile musician comfortable in a wide range of styles, including symphonic and chamber music, big band and small combo jazz, and theatre orchestras. A graduate of the Yale School of Music, he often performed as saxophonist with the Yale Philharmonia, and has been featured soloist with the Benny Goodman Archives at Carnegie Hall and Chamber Music NW in Portland, OR. After moving to the Olympic Peninsula in 2023, he now performs with the Port Townsend and Port Angeles symphony orchestras, the Sequim City Band, and was recently in the pit for the musical GUNMETAL BLUES at KCPT in Port Townsend.

TED ENDERLE (BASS) is originally from Philadelphia and now hails from Bainbridge Island. He is a first call for music ensembles from Port Angeles to Seattle for jazz, rock, and blues bands. Ted and Linda have collaborated on many occasions; favorites include performances with choreographer and tap dancer Bill Evans, Friends of Brubeck, and concerts with Broadway vocalist Elinore O’Connell.
