In this class, participants will explore five distinct techniques to add texture and depth while painting a woodland landscape. Through hands-on instruction, they’ll discover how to create visual interest and bring their nature scenes to life with dynamic, engaging effects.
Marilyn Hiestand was born in August of 1949 in Arkansas City, Kansas and has always been drawn to the world of arts. She learned this from her mother at a young age, and has been creating ever since. Throughout her career, she has also been a dedicated school teacher, having taught in six different states. However, her passion for art has never waned, and she has continued to develop her skills in watercolor, mixed media, in fiber and fabric art.
Her work often centers around nature and its various forms, which she enjoys adopting as themes in my creations. She uses vibrant colors and textures to create pieces that are both varied and visually engaging. Despite her years of experience, she is always striving to improve her knowledge of visual arts techniques. Her goal is to continue learning and growing as an artist, so that she may continue to express herself in new and exciting ways.
Overall, her work reflects her love of all arts and her admiration for the beauty of nature.
