Join us for the opening celebration of VOYAGES MONOCHROMATIQUES featuring the work of local photographers Thompson Holmes, Richard Kohler, Ernst-Ulrich Schafer, and Philippe Tauran. The exhibit explores the essence of visual subject matter through the contrasts of light and shadow, from bright whites to deep blacks, in a celebration of black-and-white imagery.
Without color, light and composition are put sharply into focus to create a fresh perspective. Local photographers Thompson Holmes, Richard Kohler, Ernst-Ulrich Schäfer and Philippe Tauran are have been working in the medium of monochrome photography for many years collectively. The exhibit explores the essence of visual subject matter through the contrasts of light and shadow, from bright whites to deep blacks, in a celebration of black-and-white imagery.
