Date Night in the Sunset Lounge: Valentine’s Edition

Valentine’s Day at Field Hall’s Sunset Lounge was an unforgettable evening of romance, music, and fine dining! It also marked a very special occasion for Field Hall – the first hosted dinner catered in-house by our Food & Beverage team. Our guests enjoyed a perfect blend of live swing music, a gourmet four-course dinner, and a delightful ambiance.

The highlight of the evening was the delightful performance by the Jonathan Doyle Swingtet. Jonathan Doyle, saxophonist and clarinetist based in Port Townsend, WA, led his ensemble through a night of swing and jazz that had couples dancing throughout the night.

The highlight of the evening was the delightful performance by the Jonathan Doyle Swingtet. Jonathan Doyle, saxophonist and clarinetist based in Port Townsend, WA, led his ensemble through a night of swing and jazz that had couples dancing throughout the night.

Doyle’s impressive career, which includes performances at the Grand Ole Opry, Preservation Hall, Austin City Limits, and many other prestigious venues and festivals, shone through in every note. Joining Doyle were some of the finest jazz musicians from the Pacific Northwest:

D’Vonne Lewis (drums): A celebrated drummer from Seattle, Lewis  has won the “NW Instrumentalist of the Year” honor three times.

Matt Weiner (bass guitar): Known for his syncopated jazz feel and folksy melodies, Weiner performs upwards of 200 shows per year, primarily in the Seattle area.

Josh Roberts (guitarist): A jazz guitarist from Vancouver, BC, specializing in early electric and acoustic rhythm guitar styles.

Jacob Zimmerman (saxophonist/clarinetist): A Seattle-based musician renowned for his creative, swinging jazz.

Field Arts & Events Hall showcased its first-ever fully catered in-house dinner, crafted by our Food & Beverage Manager, Mike Low. From our onsite finishing kitchen, Low and his team presented a delectable four-course menu that delighted the senses.
