Groove is a wind ensemble concert highlighting American music and history though jazz, Latin, and dance inspired works. The program aims to underline both the beautiful diversity and the commonalities we all share in the American experience. Through works inspired by jazz greats Thelonious Monk and Sonny Rollins, American classic composers and early 20th century dances, the nearly lost history and culture at Wounded Knee, all the way to the sounds of the San Antonio boardwalk, audiences will be taken on a journey through time and genre. Follow the throughline of Groove and experience how a steady groove can bring us closer together.
